So I guess those are amongst the shows that we can ask Aled for complete versions of?

I suppose so yes. I'm not entirely clear what we need from him really, apart from those three incomplete ones. I think Jamie thought that we might have every show available to us now (apart from some of the stand-in presenter ones), what with the various people who started mentioning that they had been recording them too. So for now maybe I should just mention that we want these?

Wednesday 12th November 2008: Alisha Dixon (Incomplete)
Thursday 13th November 2008: Jimmy Carr (Incomplete)
Tuesday 25th November 2008 (Incomplete)

I also mentioned afternoon shows to him, because I remember someone else (possibly Neil) mentioning them. He said "This is such a big job - send me over a list of shows (doesn't have to be comlete at all) just so that a) I can start on the job and b) I can work out how big a task it is."

He did also say (following me mentioning that we have a lot more breakfast shows than we thought) to remember that the shows that they have will be much better quality than the ones we have recorded, which I do know (particularly in the case of some of the earlier shows), but I wasn't sure if we should have been asking for shows we already have, as he had already said that the breakfast shows would be a big job too (although he did say more than happy to help).

So basically it's all a bit confusing.

What is incomplete about them, the final few minutes and the handovers? If so, I imagine we'll have many, many missing minutes as most of the shows are recorded from Listen Again/iPlayer streams, and they've finished at 10 on the dot on many occasions.

There are a few in December aswell that would benefit from asking Aled for aswell.

It's not confusing in the slightest. Aled has offered his services in this site getting a complete collection of shows. But we can only ask soo much from him. He is willing to help, lets not push him (I know your not Ian but I just like staeting the obvious every now and then :-) ).

Yeah, the top priorities obviously have to be the gaps, and incomplete shows (I've had plenty of incomplete shows too if you mean with the handover cut off - that's just one of those things). After that I suppose it's whatever better-quality shows we can get, so I'm thinking the early years.

There where plenty of handover cut offs in the 2008 shows. When I put incomplete it means that there are chunks during the shows that are missing.

The early years are the weaker of the collection (In terms of sound quality).

Yeah great job Slaphead.

It sounds like maybe it came as a surprise to you Jamie that some of the shows are missing bits? Do you think it might be the same with other shows? I don't think there have been any bit missing from my 2007 shows. Although I suppose it's hard to tell if it's small gaps, because I don't listen to them while I edit them. I'm sure they will be fine though.

So when it comes to missing shows, so far I have the incomplete ones:

Wednesday 12th November 2008: Alisha Dixon (Incomplete)
Thursday 13th November 2008: Jimmy Carr (Incomplete)
Tuesday 25th November 2008 (Incomplete)
Tuesday 2nd December 2008: Justin Lee Collins (Incomplete)
Wednesday 3rd December 2008 (Incomplete)
Thursday 4th December 2008: Jeremy Clarkson (Incomplete)
Tuesday 9th December 2008 (Incomplete)

I'm sure Aled would prefer a "final" list of shows rather than us just asking for a few over and over, so I'll keep this list, and if anyone has any more to add then please let me know.

Regarding the lower-quality ones, it's tough to grade them. It seems like 2004-2006 are really not great. Then 2007-2008 are a bit better, and 2009 onwards are a bit better again. But if we were going to replace any, then I think it would be worth doing unless we could replace a whole year of shows.

Ladies & Gents, can I ask a little favour please, I'm off next week abroad and so won't be able to hear Moyles' last week on air, now I know that as usual the edited shows will be uploaded here but I was wondering if it was at all possible to have the unedited ones uploaded here as well the edited ones please?

Thanks in advance :)
