That's what i'm hoping. But I thought if he had any big news like that he would have announced it himself on the radio?

Glad someone at the bbc has woken up :)

His three-and-a-half-hour programme also featured messages from Coldplay's Chris Martin, Jamie Oliver, McFly and Sir Terry Wogan.

Not the first time I've made the same comment as chrysostom much later on. It seems in my haste and excitement to post a witty comment I didn't look to see if it had been made first. I'll keep trying, one day I'll be first.

There have been plenty of rumours on the Guardian, The Sun and Radio Today for a couple of weeks that Chris might be doing the 10pm-12am slot. I hope it's true, I'd be a listener for sure. My theory is maybe BBBen was worried that Chris' listeners would follow him to his new slot if he moved straight there, so he's giving a cooling off period to give Nick Grimshaw a chance to earn the Moyles fans. If Chris isn't doing any more radio this year, then let's hope we hear him on Radio 1 again in the new year. After all, he's contracted to the BBC until 2014.

There is also an argument that having presented the breakfast show for 8 years, his dream job, that he's done what he set out to do and wants to move on. It would be a real loss for radio though, his technical ability let alone his style is first class.

The two aren't mutually exclusive - you could listen to both.

You can, but from the texts, tweets and emails the BBC have been getting about the change it seems like some of the more hardcore Moyles fans have been viewing Nick Grimshaw as some imposter who is taking the show away from their man. I just think giving it some time in the interim would help the new breakfast show.

It's hardly a surprise that Chris is linked to the 10-12 slot. As peculiar as it may sound I see it as less of a demotion than being shunted to another daytime show. If he just moved to 1-4 say, he would be expected to do a similar show to now in a less prestigious slot. if he moves to 10-12 it would give him more flexibilty to do something new.

It's logical to think that if he stays ar R1 that that would be his next show, especially as no replacement for Grimshaw has been named. The longer that continues the more likely Moyles will be moving there in my opinion. They could just announce in 6-8 weeks that he is returning and build up the hype.

I'd love it if he moved there, so long as he is given the freedom he wants.

If the rumours are true and Dave has left the BBC, how would people feel about a Chris Moyles show without Dave? Would it work? At the start it took me a while (a long while!) to like/'get' Dave, but i eventually did and now i can't really imagine the show without him.
