The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I had to go out, and the website crashed. But yeah, end of an era. Fantastic show. No point using words really, it was just that good. All I can say is thank God for this website, because I don't think I'd be able to deal with it if I didn't have the archive to fall back on.

Thanks you Chris and the team, and good luck with everything :)

I thought that was an odd thing to say. I think it's USA here I come in 2013.

You never know, you know how much he loves New York!

I heard that too!
Sorry all, but how great would that be, Chris here! I do fear most Americans would fail to grasp the genius however. Chris may be FAR too witty and clever for most American palettes I’m afraid.

Coincidentally, both my iPad and my iPhone Tune in radio apps had issues today. The iPad failed to record completely and the phone began just at the end of the discussion about the tribute book. It may be just as well since I could hardly drive listening to the last ever 40 minutes, something must have gotten in my eyes… Or allergies maybe? I’ll listen again but not at the office I don’t think.

But why not Northern Ireland? I can see the papers tomorrow:

"Loud-mouthed roly poly DJ Chris Moyles delivered a snub to Northern Ireland on his final show yesterday. The controversial fat DJ, 38, shouted "goodbye Great Britain" in a video segment at the end of the show.

Egotistical Moyles, 38, who once said something mildly homophobic on air about ten years ago, has left the Radio 1 Breakfast show after eight years. A spokesman for Northern Ireland said "It's a disgraceful snub. He should be ashamed of himself."

I haven't posted for a while, but thought I'd show my face today.

What a strange feeling I had this morning. Throughout the show I had mixed emotions. One minute I was sad that the show was finishing, the next minute the team were making me laugh out loud. It was a real rollercoaster.

I had work so didn't get to watch the show, but being a trucker and having a long journey this morning, I managed to listen to every second.

I felt it was a great way to bow out - nothing over the top and very few surprises. Just the team doing what they do best!

I won't lie, during the final song, I had a few tears in my eyes driving down the M1. I'm sad, because ot feels like im losing my best friends, but also happy because I was at work throughout this entire era of radio, and have managed to hear almost every show live, and it's been fantastic,

I wish all the team the absolute best in life. Thank you for the memories, the fun, for draining my bank account with all your charity events, and for entertaining me on the many thousands of miles I've driven.

I wasn't part of the team, but I always felt I was, and just like Chris, Dave, Dom, Aled, Tina and everyone else, I had the time of my life!

Northern Ireland is part of Great Britain isn't it?

I don't think so, that's why there was a lot of fuss about Team GB's name in the Olympics, because it didn't include Northern Ireland. They wanted it called Team UK instead.

I've had this stuck in my head all afternoon:

I'm pretty sure that it's now always going to remind me of the final few weeks of the show, what with Chris' love for the tune and playing it again this morning.

The massive irony is that I got into quite a lot of new music through the show, not just because they were forced to play it, but often because I find Chris' (totally unappreciated by many) enthusiasm for music he likes quite infectious.

Greg James just mentioned Chris on his show just now. He is playing Mcfly Starboy right now

I actually think it'll be a while before I can re-listen to anything from this morning. In fact, it occurred to me I've even been avoiding the podcasts lately (although I've downloaded them all and will make sure I have every last one).

Hmm, maybe I'm going through the first phase in Kübler-Ross' five stages of grief (denial)?...

Anyone feeling absolutely crap? I know it should be a celebration of how amazing they were and for how long they did the breakfast show, but selfishly all I can think about is not being able to listen to them every single day when I wake up. And the thought of not knowing exactly where they're all going makes it even worse :(
