The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Yep. My plan was to have a week or two break listening to other stuff (Gervais/Merchant/Pilkington podcasts/shows for one), and then dive into the Moyles archive from the beginning. But I think it would be hard to do. Having said that, once I got past the first show, I'm sure it will be a blast. But I can't do it just yet.

The Gervais/Merchant/Pilkington podcasts are ace! I'm sure most here would like them as they're on the same line of humour as CM. I've decided to download as much from this site as possible (podcasts/old shows etc). To be fair, I haven't listened to many of the podcasts, so would be good to go back through them all.

It's just sad I won't haven't the 6:30am cheesy song anymore and it seems all of this tieing up with myself moving out for the first time is a hint that things move on and I'll have to find another morning show in my new chapter.

Well, it was sad to hear the show end, but I wasn't really that emotional! I guess I'm just too stone-hearted :D

As for what to listen to next, I already listen to 6Music in the mornings, I flick over when Moyles plays the crap playlist songs, then flick back when they start talking again.

Not sure why Chris played The Streets though, as I hate them with a passion! This video sums up my opinion of them nicely!

To be fair, Chris has ALWAYS had a right go at Mike Skinner. I remember him playing a game with Dave in the afternoons where he read out some ridiculous-sounding lyrics and Dave had to guess whether they were made up or genuine Streets lyrics (they were all genuine).

I was hoping he'd play Mercury Rev - The Dark is Rising because he (and I) raved about it when it was out and I thought it fitted well.

And the thought of not knowing exactly where they're all going makes it even worse :(

I'm with you, I didn't think it would affect me quite like this! Just shows how powerful a medium radio is. There's a big part of me that feels something went wrong, that Chris wanted to present the breakfast show until 2014, when he would have hit ten years.

I held it together, but felt a welling up during Starboy, timed my walk to the car during a song, and listened to the radio via my phone and earpiece at work (naughty me - only for the last 30 mins though), the final song almost had me blubbing at the desk.

The final show was brilliant, with all the build up it now feels like I've had a good Christmas, with a crappy Boxing Day and a miserable January to look forward to.

Nice mention for this forum, has Dom genuinely never heard of it? I only ask, as when he said something like "What was that website again?" he sounded totally ignorant of it's existence.

An evening show for Chris in the US would give him better working hours, and we could all listen online in the morning. Bummer for when you're in the car though, and are there any US stations without adverts? I hate adverts.

Hmm, maybe I'm going through the first phase in Kübler-Ross' five stages of grief (denial)?...

Yup. I posted the "5 stages of grief" diagram when the end of the show was first announced.

I just felt numb after the end of today's show. I even skipped lunch, and anyone that knows me knows that is rare! :D

I'm catching up with old podcasts today, starting with Jim Eddie Talk Sh*t, then from Monday I'll be winding back the clock to 2004, Pop Pickers!

Long time lurker here and i actually thought i had created an account before now but none the less im here now... i have been reading and reading everyones comments and thank god for this forum as its amazing for fans of TCMS.

Today was amazing, poignant & sad all at the same time, i wanted to cry but couldnt coz i was in work but i guess i will when i watch the show back later on!
14 years i have listened to Chris, 14 long, happy, fun & laughter filled years and there will not be another relationship like the one he has made with his listeners. i cant imagine myself feeling this way about any other dj, infact i dont even know who i would listen to now.
i am going to start the podcasts from the start and work my way through them and maybe have the cheesy song as my alarm call that will go someway to reducing the loss i feel.

What you guys do here is awesome, he said himself its a better archive than the bbc and you should be proud of yourselves. lovely touch with the book, he genuinely seemed impressed.

i hope to stick around here and get chatting to you guys and im also on twitter @dom1981

finally i wrote a piece about chris in my blog last night and Rob DJ Retweeted for me and i got my highest ever views today with a lot of praise on twitter for it so i thought i would share it here, i hope you guys dont mind.

Thanks

Dominic

You should paste that in to the breakfast show tributes thread at the top of General :)

It didnt hit me at all that it was going to end until today. I just didnt take it on board at all really, even after the initial announcement.

I was feeling empty after a fantastic couple of days in London meeting Chris and being part of that incredible theatre show, so I booked tickets to see him in November. Hopefully that will bridge the gap between now and (fingers crossed) his return to the Radio in the New Year.

I think we now know that Dom wont be moving with him. If Moyles moves to 10-12 Aled wont be with him as producer as Phil from Fearne's show is going to produce that. Maybe Dave will move with him though.

I have never watched an Oddbox myself. Kind of regret that now! How long has Dom being doing that for?

Watching the Paul Turner bit from the show today on Youtube and I knew he did VO for the afternoon show etc but never knew they've known each other for such a long time it seems. I said eariler that it was from the Capital days but realise it was before that now. Man has an awesome voice.

Not too sure either, but when I heard him plugging it on newsbeat at lunchtime, I'm pretty sure he said 'the last oddbox', rather than 'my last oddbox', suggesting that it may be the end completely for oddbox.

I thought that was an odd thing to say. I think it's USA here I come in 2013.

Unless it was just echoing the words of the first show jingle which had "hello Great Britain" a few times.
