Hi all,
I know I've read these words myself so many times over the past few days, but without being boring I'm a "long-time lurker, first-time poster" which is odd, as I've literally read this forum every day for the past 2 months, and every week or so for about 8 years before then, so I'm not sure why I'm only getting round to posting now!?
Anyway, trying to come to terms with the void that this breakfast show is going to leave, I've just purchased a copy of Dave's book from ebay, and have read both of Chris' books previously. I know Aled mentioned in his Twitter Q & A this morning that there were plans for possibly some of the team to write a book/books, but I think there would be a great call for a book detailing the history of TCMS, from a listeners point of view?
I know myself, even though the show has been a massive part of my daily routine for the past 8.5 years, and even though I've listened to every single podcast for the past 3 years, and many of the previous ones too, but listening this weekend to the special best of 2004, 2005.... and so on podcasts, there were so many moments that made me go "Oh yeah, I forgot that happened.." So I read TCMS Wiki page, to refresh my memory on other things I may have forgotten, but there's not a huge amount of detail on there. But I know from reading so many posts, that so many forum members have real encyclopedic memories, and I think it would just be such a shame if those memories weren't put to a better use than (no disrespect) posting on the forum!
So, how possible would it be, to put together a guide/history/almanac type book, that just talked about, remenisced, reminded and informed people about all of the ups, downs, hilarity, notoriety, fame and generall all-round good times, that the show has bought to so many people over the 8.5 years? I fully appreciate I'm talking about a major project here, and saw how much effort and trouble Nicola went to putting together the chrismoyles.net book for Chris, which itself was simply amazing, but I just thought it was worth putting it out there and seeing what other opinions were, as purely from a selfish point of view, it's something I would love to read, and read, and read!!!
