Grimmy is on with Scott Mills now. Scott's fake laugh is doing my head in. Grimmy really doesn't have a morning voice.

Scot's fake laugh matches his fake personality. It didn't have to be - he used to be a really good listen when he did Early Breakfast, and I still think he is the best Chart Show host there has ever been. Why is he so crap on him mainstream shows?

According to Digital Spy he's just signed a new 3 year contract, but doesn't think he'll want to stay beyond that.

Scott Mills is just the type of DJ Capital London would love for their weekend shows so he'll still broadcast after he leaves Radio 1. Which is sad.

You know, I heard Scott say something yesterday that made me think, for like a millisecond, "that was the real Scott mills talking then." I think he was saying he thought someone was an idiot, but I forget who. But it was like four words and then he fell straight back into DJ mode. I think I'd like him much better if he was the 'real Scott'.

I don't we will ever see Scott outside of DJ mode now he's been pushed away from drivetime and has to keep squeeky clean to stay. Used to always love listening on a drive home in my old job a few years ago. Perfect blend of music/chat that should be consistant across the whole of the daytime output (minus the breakfast show). The 3 year contract thing surprises me though. Unless Scott's being more reasonable on the changes within Radio 1 and that's why a shiny 3 year contract was waved infront of him.

I've not yet heard the Grimshaw interview this morning, but will do on iPlayer when available.

I remember, not that long ago, that a DJ on that station had a contract till 2014 but ended up going only after a few months.

Hmmmm, I wonder. However, Chris is freelance where Scott Mills is not? Doesn't matter. Maybe Ben Cooper was pushed to make the change. Or, his involvement in Jesus Christ Superstar was one step too far after the dotted line had been signed for the extra 2 and half years? We may never know for a long while until Chris' contract has ceased. I can't be bothered to speculate as it's probably something far from those reasons. It's just odd that the change is extremely sudden. Definately not in Grimmy's favour to say the least.

It's long but not very wide. I'll throw in my lawn mower too.

Can I have the TV?

While I don't buy the 'I've always wanted this', this interview has persuaded me that maybe it's worth giving his show a chance. He said there'll be a bit more music, which there always is with other shows, but he seems to still be keen on having chat in the show so maybe it's worth a try. Different from when I gave Scott a try in the morning and it was an hour long block of music, for example.

Don't worry about it. Today's the last of it.

Tap End is very funny, although it took me a few listens to understand (and start liking) that feature. I'm looking forward to 'season two' starting next week, which will hopefully be on the Mills podcasts as I rarely listen at lunchtimes.

This thread may be deleted due to its pointlessness, but before it is, I'll just chip in and say I found the emotional last handover of the Shortest Breakfast Show Ever quite funny...
