She is brilliant :D Naturally very funny without even trying, very sexy to look at, very sexy voice, very talented. It was great to see her at the live show. And no surprise, she kept accidentally coming with double entendres :D

Edit: Sorry I meant "accidentally coming UP with double entendres"

I must admit, she would be great as a part of a refreshed Radio 2 line-up with legacy Radio 1 presenters if every Radio 2 wanted to chuck out the old, bring up the music decade bar and get in younger Radio 2 listeners ;).

Tried to listen to Chris Evans this morning, but after hearing Cliff Richard with Living Doll, I was scared off. I'm not sure if I find him a bit too hyperactive first thing in the morning....

I dunno, I've heard that before and although I find it kinda creepy, the offending record in this case didn't sound like it was that. It was about 7.15am.

This.
It woke me up at that time too. I don't mind hearing that song during the day, but waking up to it does my head in.

He has actually bought the Dunlop bridge from Donington Park. Claim to fame, I've crossed the track on it TWICE. Amazing I know.

Every time Ive listened he mentions stuff he buys (pub, cars etc) - we all know hes rich but there is nothing worse than hearing someone tell you!

Only twice? I've crossed it more than twice in one day, and been Donnington numerous times!

Evans is still a bell end tho, bridge or no bridge.

I really like Simon Mayo on Drivetime, he is quite funny with his team on there. The Confessions feature is at times some of the funniest radio I've heard.

The confessions are the highlight of my drive home from work.

Theres a weekly podcast with just the confessions available.

For the last 18 months or so I've been the photographer in a live music venue which is also a pub. The boss of the place loves Radio 2, and she puts it on during the day whenever she opens up. I've heard enough of that to come to the conclusion that I really don't like daytime Radio 2. I've started binning it off and putting Radio 1 on instead.

Friday's show (which to be fair he does call Friday Requests or something) seems to be just requests and nothing else. I take Monday to Thursday isn't like that?

If you haven't already, you must check out the Kermode and Mayo Film Reviews podcast. It's taken from their weekly show on 5 Live, which used to be only a segment but grew into a 2 hour show of its own accord after Simon moved to Radio 2 a couple of years ago.

It's great if you like films of course, but is also generally very funny and full of in-banter that you get familiar with really quickly.

I've barely ever bothered with the video stuff (although I really should sometime) - the podcast has everything you need. :)

One of the reasons I love the Mayo/Kermode show & podcast is that it warms the * of my 90s Radio 1 listener heart... I was a regular listener of their respective shows on R1 (when school allowed).

EDIT: Haha, that filter!

Monday-Thursday is the normal show with Friday being a requests show. Confessions are on at 17:40ish or in the podcast Zoot mentioned.

I agree 100% with this - the second best radio show I've heard, I love it.

Simon Mayo is a broadcasting god, for me the only one who comes close to Moyles.

Yeah, I think was my favourite DJ as a kid/teenager along with (perhaps oddly) Kevin Greening. The best thing about school holidays for me was being able to listen to his show, especially the Golden Hour and Confessions.

I'm determined to give Grimmy a shot all this week but am tempted to listen back to Zoe on the iPlayer. She annoyed the hell out of me on R1 post-Kevin, but that was a long time ago and I liked her when she filled in for Simon on the Kermode/Mayo film show recently.

I only warmed to Simon Mayo after he did the "Big Dig" on TV, but agree his show is an easy and entertaining listen, and I love some of the confessions.

Just tuned into Radio2 this morning, I tried Grimmy to see if there was any improvement but within 2 minutes of listening One Direction had received a mention.

Not sure Radio 2 is for me yet though, I really am struggling with finding a replacement show.

I have loved Simon Mayo since he was first on Radio 1. His breakfast show was excellent.

It scared me the other day when he posted on Twitter that he did the breakfast show 25 years ago!! I used to listen to it doing my paper round every morning!

I was listening to Mayo yesterday evening for the first time since he used to do mid mornings on Radio 1. I have to say I found it entertaining and interesting. They had a bloke on talking about hibernation in different species. Best of all there wasn't one mention of One Direction! Two words that I think I heard about 10 times in two separate 15 minute spells of listening to Grimshaw this morning.
