The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Thank * I have a digital radio! My mornings now rotate between 6Music, XFM, Planet Rock and podcasts on my phone. :D

You're lucky you get the last two on DAB. We can't, not even any Absolute ones. :(

Ah, that's a shame! I sometimes put Absolute 90's on, every day is like a Golden Hour :D

With all due respect, he's wrong.

With absolutely no respect whatsoever, he's probably a ballbag.

He didn't like me critiquing his critique and I suspect was about to try and play all scared and frikened. He accused me of "repeatedly telling him he was wrong" - when I'd only done it once.

To summarise: meh.

don't forget that chris' show was half hor less in 2004. only 7 - 10

Ohhh I'd be interested to listen to that bit - do you know when he said that?
I'm tempted to try him. I decided this afternoon that I may have been harsh to judge on one show and decided to give Grimmy a week, but I am not sure whether my opinion will change and wonder if it's worth my time/sanity.

Oh god, It was after 8 if thats any help. Maybe half past, i'm not sure, sorry. :?
Someone texted in saying he was a Moyles refugee & Shaun welcomed us all & said that when he passed Radio 1 on his way in, there was a silver blimp hovering above the building disgorging celeb guests down a mink lined tube straight into the R1 studio. :D He made cracks about R1 & its teenie obsession all through the show.

They reviewed Grimshaw's show on 5live with Bacon today, despite the fact that Richard hadn't managed to hear it himself. It was done in a rather strange way, with two random R1 listeners (one of whom was 44 and called himself an old fogey, they didn't mention the other guy's age but he didn't sound like he was within the R1 demographic either) giving their verdict on it. They were both massive Moyles fans, so unsurprisingly weren't very keen on Nick and actually ended up spending most of the time talking about how great Chris was.

Richard also said that his wife had dragged him to see Superstar last night (I got the impression he suffered through it) and that the one thing he would say is that when you're playing the role of Herod in an Andrew Lloyd Webber production then you know you shouldn't be on the R1 breakfast show any more.

Something amazing happened this morning. I was at work and it got to 6.30, so I switched the radio on. I tried to like it but got a headache so switched it off. I took 2 paracetamol, did some more work and switched the radio back on. I still didn't like it. I tried this several more times, sure it would get better eventually but unfortunately, in the end, a quiet office was preferable. Even Tina didn't sound the same bubbly person she usually is!

Sure, I have got the podcasts but I thought I would look to the future not the past and listen to the podcasts in an emergency, need cheering up type of situation. Neither I, or my colleagues thought they would see the day that I didn't want radio one on at work!

I hope that Chris Moyles is going to do another radio show at some point, any time of day or night on any station so that I can listen back while I am at work. It's just a shame that the team has been disbanded now and I don't think we'll ever get them back!

It's ok for radio one to go on about target demographics but I am the one sat at work listening to the radio all day. The kids don't listen when they are in lessons. They don't have control of the radio in the car or at home for that matter so maybe it's time to ditch target demographics and try and keep the listeners you've got - or had when Moyles was on!!

I've just been reading the Daily Mail article on the first show. BBC PR must love Nick, the media seem to have fallen for him massively.

What struck me though is that the vast majority of 'top rated' comments are about Chris not hosting it any more being a bad thing, the majority of the 'bottom rated' comments are people saying it's all good as long as Moyles is gone.

Even the Daily Mail readers seem to be missing Chris!

Grimmy did a decent length link in the first half hour this morning - less music and more chat than yesterday already! He also - rather clumsily and obviously - attempted to shoehorn in a few "controversial" references, which may have fooled the One Direction fans but stood out like a sore thumb I thought.

Its sad that he seems to be feeling under pressure already. 8)

I'm no medical expert but I think you may have taken too many paracetamol in the recommended time frame.
Hope you woke up Ok this morning.

Let me know as I'm slightly worried for your well being.

Unless several more times was more like twice and you were being a bit melodramatic then I'm sure you're fine.
If, however, you meant 7 or 8 then you may have some issues that need addressing.

If they took seven or eight, they won't be able to read this as they're probably bleeding from their eyes right now.

That sounded like a well-rehearsed stunt to me too. "OOh, he's all edgy and playing it dangerously!" Didn't buy it for one minute.

I'm finding it really frustrating that quite a few articles/blogs are referencing the music he's playing being so different and fresh compared to Chris Moyles (e.g that NME blog referring to him playing 'good music' like Taylor Swift and Aluna George) - Chris played music from the exact same playlist music which is picked by R1 execs and producers, not presenters (I guess there's a chance Nick will now be involved but nothing to confirm this).

It would also appear to be written by the deputy editor of NME, not just some tween...

To be fair, NME hasn't had any credibility for years, has it?

NME is the last place I'd go for any musical opinion, let alone a poor rant against Moyles. I did highlight the article in a tweet... awaiting a reply from the said writer.
