The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I would have sung to them:

You and Vera did some stuff
Then Vera was up the duff
9 months later Chris came along
And that is why we're singing this song

It's time for Chris to leave
From the BBC building!

It was a personal invite in the case of Chris Harris and I - the other 12 (I think) were voted for by forum members. None of us won the ticket ballot that enabled the other 100 listeners to be there.

I haven't had chance to watch it back yet! I'm sure I must have been visible. When I came out of the theatre I had several texts/tweets from people saying they'd seen me on camera.

ETA: you can just see the back of my head in that first pic! Right at the bottom in the centre.

Neither have I, I do know I'm on it because Reuben's childminder saw me winning the t-shirt.

Interesting fact that I'm not sure anyone has mentioned yet.

I was listening to Shaun Keaveny on 6Music during this Thursday show (when Moyles was playing crap music). Apparently a 6Music listener had texted into Shaun's show that he had spotted Dean Gaffney running down Great Portland Street!

Lo and behold, who should show up on Chris' goodbye show :D I think Gaffney probably turned up at Radio 1 HQ instead of going to the theatre where the show was!

Did anyone else notice Fearne says "Morning you lot!" at the end, but they aren't listening and so there's this awkward pause (filled with applause that is still being made from the audience) before she starts playing a record. The programme isn't on iPlayer now so I don't know what she said afterwards.

Nicola_Red wrote:I thought Fearne was off on that day? Why did they have a "final handover" on the Wednesday if she wasn't?

Just watched it again and it's definitely Fearne's voice, she says "Morning again you lot". On the video it's at around 03:27:55. There is then around 15 seconds of applause before the record starts.

Fearne was a guest on the live show on Thu, as we all recall. But I don't know if she did her show afterwards (I was still in the theatre listening to Chris play Toby clips and parodies while they set up to record the goodbye song video). She was indeed off on Fri, but that's not really relevant here. My question is, if she did do her show on Thu, why did they make a big deal of doing a final handover on Wed? Did they just mean a final one in person, as opposed to remotely?

Wednesday was the last handover for the two shows. That is unless you count the fact she just could'nt shut up for a few seconds at the end of Thursdays' show (It was when some of you lucky gits ( ;-) ) gave Chris & co. a standing ovation at the end of the show).

Thanks for your comments everyone, and howabout94 for posting the video link.

I'm not sure then why Fearne spoke. Strange, surely she knew that they had done the last handover? Or did she do it out of habit? (Out of habit even though she'd just been in the live studio within the hour presumably)
