Well, I said I was switching to radio 2 but.... I cant do it. I just cant. Zoe Ball is still as poor as she was in 1997. Ill give Evans a try next week but failing that, im going to have to listen to albums from here on. Just as well I have a much GBs card on my mobile.

I really wasnt prepared for how much of a hole Moyles was going to leave getting to work in the morning. This is an awful situation.

I'm going for Keavney on BBC 6 Music, on payday over I go to Argos or Comet and will be buying a DAB alarm radio

It should be, but isn't always. Especially when their specialist shows could quite easily fit on Radio 1.

Going back to Greg James for a second. For me, he's perfect as a radio geek (understands the concepts, controls and use them all to his advantage). However, I feel like there's another gear within him to be a little more exciting. Currently, he's like a rollercoaster. One minute he'll do something quite clever, but then next minute be extremely dull and not carry through what he started.

I must try this 6Music guy out if quite a few here are raving about him.

it was a silly point badly put...

but..... my point was a large proportion listen in the car on the way to work or school or collage

if they are getting a lift, its somobodys mum dad or a friend with a car or ME who has chosen radio 1 and is subjecting up to 5 listeners to their choice
if they are driving then its thier choice....

but the target audience are an age group who is now, through no real fault of their own, subjected to extortionate insurance costs and who in general consume their media in a different manner to old duffers like me,(who radio 1 activly don't want) so are less likely to be listening in the car, the luxury of a car at 17 is long gone for most (£2000 to insure a corsa!) On top of that they are less likely to be listening via traditional methods and hence able to listen to what they want when they want which aint necessarily going to be Nick Grimshaw.....

EG mum could stomach moyles so it was on.... but can't stand grimshaw, swicthes to radio 2, passengers all make their own choice via their phones ipods/pads and headphones potential 5 listens to radio 1 breakfast show....lost

yesterday i was annoyed, feeling old..too old. and annoyed

today i lisetend to absolute and am less annoyed..still annoyed with the BBC but not as annoyed as i was yesterday.

i'm not usually annoyed by anything much, but having my daily routine and then 60 minute commute turned upside down niggles

I did understand what you meant, but yes, it was an odd way to make the point (and you're still a bit garbled now if I'm honest). What about listeners who listen on their phone or generic mp3 player? That isn't age-specific, all kids have them now. I can't drive, I listen on my commute on my mp3 player.

Listensers who listen on their phone or MP3 player have made their choice to listen, this is good.

i can't be dicking about with an MP3 player while drving, obviously its physically possible and yes I could tune in before setting off, but by the time i have got me my laptop, sat nav, phone, 2 children, 2 PE kits, 2 book bags, 2 packed lunches assorted coats, letters, wellington boots and the usual busy life junk from the house to the car safely do i really want something else to carry when the radio is already intalled tuned in and on the minute the key is turned.
No time for more clutter when i have everyone elses to worry about

It certainly does! I am 37, single, no commitments, live in a city centre and hop on a tram to work, via Starbucks. But we're both well outside R1 target audience

Regarding the sig, it's up to you. I'm a moderator here and it isn't against the rules. But it might be making your posts look unneccessarily cluttered, and it's kinda pointless when it's easy to see who the posts are by.
