That's the company line, though I don't put as much faith in focus groups as the company does myself.

I don't think 'young people' need to be led by the nose and spoon fed stereotypical lowest common denominator commercial dross in order for them to enjoy it, I think they can be mentally challenged, have their horizons broadened and that they respond to that.

Or as a wise man once said "educate, inform, entertain". Which I'd suggest knocks "listen, watch, share" into a * hat.

Gossard = kissing arse.

For the record, I think you're all correct. And good looking.

You think I'm disloyal too? :(

My comment wasn't a slight on anyone else or their opinions, I was merely trying to encourage a 'lets all bum each other' attitude.

You don't! You look like someone who is defending me and I appreciate that. Deadly is allowed to think that I'm disloyal and that you're an arse kisser, but he isn't allowed to post personal insults.

I think you're right and well entitled to be disloyal. Okay, we all gave Grimshaw (I'm starting to dislike the nickname Grimmy because he is actually grim to listen to) a couple weeks and the show is pants. It's Radio 1 that have been disloyal to their fellow listeners by trying to shaft us off to no-where, especially the top end like me where Radio 2 is still a big leap and I can tolerate most of the music on Radio 1 still.

I barely tune into any Radio 1 anymore unless it's become the last resort. Even the shows I used to enjoy (i.e. Scott Mills) are becoming tainted in my view with all the "teenage" crap.

Ha, I wouldn't have said it was personal insult. More a defamation of character.

(The two are different, right?)

And Deadly can call me what ever he wants. Just not an arse licker. Or post one of these

I'm twisting my own words up here! - It is disloyal to listen Grimmy now. The pathetic show it is.

Well. Spending hours clipping and transcribing for the benefit of people who think I'm not loyal enough to Moyles is clearly a waste of my time. Makes a joke of all the work I did on the tribute book too. I feel like an idiot for being so proud of it.

I am totally confused as to why anyone would be considered disloyal. If for instance, Chris had moved to another radio station, and yet people still chose to listen to Grimmy instead of Chris, then I would say there is a fair shout for saying that people are disloyal.

The fact of the matter is though, Chris has moved off the radio, be it temporary or permanent; no one knows.

We have all had a wander up and down the FM dial looking for an alternative; we know there isn't a breakfast show out there that will mirror what we have all woken up to for the last 8 1/2 years, but we have all done it. It is natural also to tune into the new show and presenter, and see if we can live with it.

I think given Nicola's undoubted service to ensuring this website is here for us to publish our views, and the quality work she done for the book, I find it rather churlish to call her disloyal because she has chosen to see what the new show was like.

Personally I find the new show with Grimmy a pile of pants; however I am sure there are things I like that you guys wouldn't. That is the way of the world, and what makes us all different. Doesn't make us disloyal though.

Jesus, some people on the internet are dicks. I wonder if they'd be so brave/dismissive/dickish in real life.

I listened to every TCMS every day for 8 years -- sometimes I listened to the show twice in one day if I missed stuff, bought both of Chris's books, went to see him in JCS and bought a ticket to the live show in London.

But, if I listen to Grimmy, I'm disloyal? That's stupid.

I run another forum on the interwebs and like Nicola, post content on there every day. Some people appreciate the work, but their thanks gets more than negated by dickheads posting abuse.

STFU dickheads.

Hey y'all. I'm completely new but have been browsing the forums for a while. I've been an avid fan of TCMS since childhood and I am still dut up that he left.

I just wanted to say after watching this thread that regardless of if others think anyone is disloyal, as a fan I knew about this forum and in particular Nicola_Red from Chris' own chats for years. Nic, no one is more loyal to you. I sobbed when I saw Aled holding the book you guys made. A random person out there KNOWS how loyal you are, don't sweat it over someones opinion. Sticks and stones.

You're taking it to heart and making a mountain out of a mole hill. Drama isn't necessary.

That's a personal insult and hopefully in keeping with recent incidents of abuse you'll be warned.

No-one's doubted your time, effort and dedication to add value to the site that everyone appreciates. Deadly and myself are just offering an opinion, whether you agree or not with it is up to you. You obviously see something in listening to Grimshaw that some of us clearly dont. Doesnt make you any less than anyone else on here.

Having offered so much time listening to the CM show over the years, and all I get at the end of it is a crappy hipster who think he can present radio. He clearly can't and that's what I'm hugely annoyed about.

Not necessarily, he's simply observing that you're calling SOME people dickheads, which is abusive.

He's a bastion of decency and all that's good, obviously.
