You've improved my days drastically because of your devotion and hard work.

Meh, what she does is vastly overrated.

So you call me disloyal in a public forum but I shouldn't respond in a public forum? What kind of crap is that?

You could have asked me to remove it as it offends you. Which I would have been happy to do.
#482398
No, I wouldn't do that. I'm not trying to censor you. I respect your right to say it, but my right to reply is equally important.
#482400
Absolutely you're right to reply is important but the issue was between yourself and me and then everyone and their mother jumps in (I'm aware that its a forum and everyone has a right to their say etc).
I didn't say it to personally offend you as I wouldn't wish to do that. I talk to you outside the forum and wouldn't attack you personally intentionally. Maybe I should have worded what I said differently as it could be taken as a personal attack I accept that.

The situation is simply open and honest discussion, I don't think that you'll need to keep your mincers peeled for an angry mob with pitchforks and burning torches on the way home tonight.

But on the subject of wishing the contents of pandora's box to be discussed in private, then I'm afraid that's nonsense.

You drew everyone in, no-one else.

To utilise another analogy, it's like a front page headline saying "Mister X is a rapist" being made right by a private phone call.

Aww, is this time for this,

Shit! I googled 'kiss & make up' & this is what came up.

The reason everyone jumped in is because they disagreed with the assertion that listening to Grimmy = disloyalty to TCMS. Such a statement is pretty objectionable if you're a person who considered themselves a loyal fan of TCMS and simply have chosen not to abandon R1 in the mornings because they still prefer it to alternatives.

As someone who has loved and lost more than one R1 Breakfast show incarnation over the past 16 years but generally stuck with it (Cox breakfast show excepted *shudder*) because I favoured the station and currently still do, it's not a nice thing to read from someone who doesn't know me. Not that I'd stop them saying it.

Nic, no one is more loyal to you. I sobbed when I saw Aled holding the book you guys made. A random person out there KNOWS how loyal you are, don't sweat it over someones opinion. Sticks and stones.

^ it's really nice that someone took the trouble to join just to post that. Kinda says it all, really.

Gosh .. I turn my back and go to Sheffield and this happens.

Since today I'm listening to the Frank Turner CD my brother got me.

On the topic though, I don't listen to any radio when I wake up any more. And I constantly find myself hopping between local radio and CDs on the way in to work.

Some days I genuinely feel lost, I forgot how easy I had it with Chris!

A shame this kicked off like it has, was only supposed to be an anonymous poll...

Still, it says a lot about the options available that nearly half the voters appear to prefer the buzz of an alarm to anything on breakfast radio now! Extend this across the population and it would be 3 or 4 million people lost to radio as a whole, not just R1...

I don't listen to anything on the radio as religiously as I did Chris but some mornings I listen to Radio 4, some 6Music, and some just the podcasts I have already. I never really did 'wake up' to anything before, I used to get up before the show started.

I've somehow found myself tuning to Capital Yorkshire for Hirsty's Daily Dose. Music quality is variable (but no worse than the R1 playlist), and the ads are irritating, but there are decent chunks of talking rubbish in a fairly entertaining way. Kind of Moyles-Lite in many ways.

He's also a proper radio anorak, who started at Radio Topshop, went on to Radio Aire in Leeds and the Pulse in Bradford - seems to have had a very similar early career to a certain Chris Moyles.

I haven't listened to Grimshaw, this was a choice I made when I heard it was him taking over. I don't like him, didn't prior to him getting Chris' job, certainly don't now. I may have stayed with Radio 1 had it have been Greg or Scott getting the job, but it wasn't and I took the hump a bit at being classed as too old for Radio 1. I've been listening to Chris Evans (after 10 minutes of local commercial radio on the first Monday without TCMS, which did my head in!) since, and to be honest, I hate it! I keep thinking of changing to 6 music, but don't have DAB in the bedroom, which is where I'd want to listen. Until I can work out a solution I guess I'm stuck with Evans. It's sad really, I had the radio on for all of TCMS, wherever I was in the house, but now, as soon as I'm downstairs, the TV goes on and I catch up with recordings.

To be fair, Nic shouldn't have listened to Grimmy. I know Chris said to give Grimmy a chance, and that Grimmy's show is a reflection of Radio 1's change in policy NOT direct competition to The Chris Moyles Show, but that doesn't matter. If you listen to Grimmy then you are a horrible person and approve of Radio 1's shift towards their specified demographic, as dictated by the public in the form of the BBC trust.

I only listen to Moyles re-runs now, even when anyone else is talking to me - just in case they doubt my loyalty to Moyles. I also tell Grimmy he's a twat on a daily basis to keep the spirit of TCMS alive. That's what being a Moyles fan is all about.

Being a rebel and a moron simply :D .

Chris Evans as a day 2. Sounding good still! Don't have to concentrate on every word he's saying, but it's commendable radio from a true prob. I did flip over to Grimmy at 7am post news. For a start, he was having a jab at Tina for not saying his feature name properly (the wake-up song) and kept making her say it. Then that feature is already dying flat on its arse already. All it is is a roll-call of names who have half wittingly texted in for the sake of it to get their name read out. I can't wait for that show to die.

That's not really a fair representation, is it?

1. She referred to it as the "wake-up song" and he corrected her to "waking up song". He did not keep making her say it at all. Moyles would have corrected any member of his team anytime they made an error.

2. How can it be dying on its arse when it's just a song with some names read out?

3. What were What Are You Doing Now, the Golden Hour, etc? People texting in to get their name read out.
