I don't hate him(yet), but he seems to be trying hard to make people hate him. I understand he has to achieve certain targets, but he's gone completely the wrong way about doing that so far IMO. He's shooting Radio 1 in the foot.

That's better than shooting itself (R1) in the pecker, which some rednecks out here do accidentally.

I do remember. An enigmatic and mysterious character, that ess. And mad as a bag of spanners. My kind of poster.

I get the feeling that Ess must have texted kind words to the team when the show was still on.

what do you mean...?

I misunderstood an earlier post then. If Ess is as mad as a bag of spanners, then Ess is probably a fun person and doesn't dislike the show as I had previously thought

If I had to guess at Scott's successor I'd put my money on Gemma Cairney. I think Scott will be around for a bit longer yet though.

Gemma Cairney's weekend shows make my ears bleed.

I think I heard he had signed up for another 3 years but knows he will be too old for it after the end of that contract.

To go much past that age on R1 you have to have a real cult/specialist following (Peel, Nightingale, Tong, Westwood etc.) - would be surprised if they employ a daytime DJ much over 40 again.

If you listen to Mills you wouldn't have him down as being 39 and this is what a lot on here don't seem to understand. Moyles was constantly referencing the '80s and '90s, things that simply don't mean anything to the majority of R1s target audience. If he'd tailored his show to being more 'era non-specific' he'd still be on air.

Rubbish. This got frequently less and less towards the end of the shows era. Anyway, I'm pretty sure most of us can guessimate it was for other reasons. Anyway, aren't most of the target audience born in the late 80 / early 90s anyway? I personally love the music that was around in the decade I was born in. Doesn't make me out of depth of those references.
