very interesting interview in which Aled says he devoted much of his life working on Moyles show and how he feels lost without it,and what his plans are for the future. .. http://thelinc.co.uk/2012/10/radio-1s-a ... -the-show/ I am particularly intrigued by th is quote from the interview.. ' “Chris will make a decision as to what he’s going to do next and, when he makes that decision, I’ll see how that affects me and whether I want to follow him, whether that’s Radio 1 or somewhere else.”' So it looks like Aled is prepared to sacrifice his Radio One career to carry on working with Chris. That's true loyalty!

One quote made chuckle,

“The breakfast show used to last about two years. Chris Evans, who I listened to when I was little, only lasted eighteen months"

If his age on Wikipedia is correct he would've been nearly 19 when Evans started on Radio 1. Although I guess Chris would of been 7. :D

Do the producers need to have a showbiz in age as well in Ben's new regime there at (C)BBC Radio 1?

yeah i worked for the BBC, fulfilled an ambition, for about a year, they don't pay.
Just expect your respect and thanks for giving you a boring job on a rediculous shift pattern for no reward....couldn't stand it. Half think they the the bright young things and know, just know, what the world wants, "like you know? its a 6th sense with me, its just in me, i'm like so atuned to what the customer wants, and at 18 i think i have the life experience to really make a difference".. the rest if they didn't turn up for work, for a month, nobody would notice, but they couldn't do that because they treat it like a religion, and of course someone might raid their stock of BBC branded stationary and tat that goes all the way back to 1973. Reminded me of a perpetual freshers week, so many, all wanting everyone to think they were having such a great time but actually just wanting to go home. It was an experience, it achived my aim of getting a mortgage after a 2 year spell of contracting, but it really wasn't that good. just like the civil service it turns you into an institutionalised moron...

Aled. take the money and run, you've done engough to get the letters BBC on ya CV run run run.

http://www.prospects.ac.uk/radio_producer_salary.htm

This article says that you're looking at around £30-45k on a radio producer's salary - but on Chris' show, you're likely to get way above market rate, given the appeal Chris has (and that wherever he goes in the commercial sector, he's likely to be a producing a flagship show) you can easily double that. I doubt the BBC would pay £90k+ to a producer who rose through the ranks.

i hope aled stays with chris's next project which if i remember correctly didnt chris say that would be revealed in new year as he is great & the duo were great to together, no surprise that chris is missing the radio show as he said on sunday brunch he had platform to get things off his chest & say what he feels to 7m listeners for nearly 9 years & of course that going to leave a big hole
