possibles
1) heater matrix has burst and the water is from there, the more condensation you have, the more you use the heater the more water comes out under the dash, and into the carpet, you will note the engine temp rising and eventally a light will come on
2) the wiper stem seals are letting in water which runs down the back of the dash and into the carpet
3) the rubber gaiters that cover where the brake and clutch peddles go through the bulkhead are split
4) the windcreen washer pipe front or rear is leaking into the front bulkhead or the rear bootlid or if it travles through the interior has been chopped/nicked by something
5) the air vent plenum either under the top edge of the bonnet or in the front scuttle is blocked up with leaves which means water that runs down the screen tends to lie at a level higher than necessary and slowly drians through into the car via places that would never normally be exposed. (open bonnet and have a root around just below the screen, remove any rotting vegetation) check to see if the plastic covers in this area are cracked or coming loose missing plastic rivets??
6) the water drian from the pollen filter has come off
7) engin under tray has come off and water is spraying up and coming in through shifter peddle linkage
rust holes in the inner wings
9) plastic membrane inside door is split, car doors designed to allow rainwater to flow in and out the bottom, casues a problem if the drain holes get blocked, doors fill up and the glue on the membrane dissolves and water comes in via the bottom of the door trim
OR
your window rubbers are FECKED
OR
Rust has come to lodge and there is a big bugger of a hole somewhere, would suggest front bulkhead under dash where there is some kind of load bareing structure i.e where the column bolts on to the floor or where the peddle box is bolted in..brake peddle mounting is usual suspect
