Annie Mac occupying Grimmy's old slot. She does my head in. I'm getting tired of having to listen to a CD or another radio station for two hours on week nights. I'm sure Radio 1 can find a better replacement for Grimmy(like Heidi who's on now, for example).

Leave the poor lass alone! She's always good when presenting solo. Her Friday night show is amazeballs.

Crappy feckin local radio in the back of a cab, it was as if I'd pressed pause somewhere in the 00's and pressed play again today.

In Rob DJ's voice:

DIDO.

And I will go doown with thiiss ship.
And I will (something) and surrender
There will be no white flag above mmyyy door

Followed by Black Eyed Peas where is the love. At least the shite R1 play is NEW.

In the name of God.

That advert for CMQN where Moyles is dragged from Radio 1 to channel 4 studios, wish I could watch it backwards. We need him back, for the sanity of the nation, starting to see why people liked hearing him on Saturdays

The Trump thing has been spoken about a bit on here, a while ago I think. I grew up not 2 miles from the development and I've always been against it. The things that come to light in that documentary are absolutely sickening quite frankly - particularly the police bullying and harassing a cameraman. The Trump camp branded the film 'biased' but unfortunately for them it's just exposing what they tried so hard to keep hidden.

Apologies, I did not know that.

Yeah, I was quite surprised they tried to stop the BBC from showing it but the bullying tactics don't work quite as well on such as a huge corporation as them.

Sounds like they might have been featuring music from a particular time in 2003 - both those songs are from Sept/Oct of that year. (Although if I remember right the Black Eyed Peas song ended up being #1 for about 7 weeks.)
But yeah - if I heard stuff like that playing on the radio it would feel like a timewarp.

I don't know if this is annoying me yet or just amusing me, but the new DJ on Radio 1/1Xtra at this time(B-Traits?) reminds me of Elmo.

Hospitals and the NHS (not nurses or doctors in general!) - so bloody reactive to patients needs.

My nan was admitted (quite reservedly by the oncall doctor) to hospital on Friday as her blood pressure was sky high and heart rate low causing severe dizzyness and alsorts. Her heart is pretty much giving up slowly as her cancer 7 years ago took its toll on her general health. Nurses could only monitor her causing highened anxiety. The last thing she wants with a weakened heart. Hopefully we'll get some better news once the heart doctors have figured out what's going on and what the plan is.

Thanks misfit! Hoping to get some better news later today that the hospital can do something to help her get stablised for the long term.

Annoying me; the tolerance for living at home is vanishing quickly. I think it shall be completely gone by the end of the week.

There wasn't any good or bad news. The doctor's are still deciding the best action, but they reckon 3 tablets that my nan was taking for her heart for 8 years (since she had cancer and battled through that) have done her more harm than good. They were only supposed to give them to her for 6 - 12 months to keep her heart rate down after 3 blood transfusions and calm her system down while she recovered. We did wonder why she was up and down with being breathless as the cancer actually made her body lose weight and allowed her to be more mobile. So we're not sure if she's getting a temp/perm pacemaker yet.

It's annoying the NHS aren't more proactive in these instances. They must waste so much money due to over prescribing drugs that people don't need and cause issues in the long term. We even had a ask the doctors to remove an drug that's used for depression and only normally prescribed in short doses when we read about it.

After my mum had a fainting spell and ended up in hospital (she has very low blood pressure) they got her blood test results mixed up with someone else's, told her her blood was too thin and gave her a clotting drug. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that that could have killed her. Thank God it was spotted pretty soon.

I can appreciate all doctors/nurses are humans and mistakes are made. That's life. But after hearing that my nan's records were in the "archive" and couldnt be accessed for days doesn't make sense when IT should eleviate those obsticles to get quick information when decisions that could save someones life need to be made there and then.

That's my little moan for the day.

I agree. My mum could probably have sued the hospital, but as she said, it was probably a junior doctor on a 60 hour shift making a mistake. I'm sure a lot of stuff concerning things like patient records is just red tape and lack of communication between departments - happens in every business. When I was having surgery regularly, X ray pics were still physical things and they would hand me a file so heavy I could barely lift it. Now the consultant just mouse-clicks and there they are on a screen, so I don't see why it isn't the same with all records.

I guess it's human hours converting all the records. Even if they're just scanned in high-res, it's better than nothing. It's probably down to do the government messing up every NHS IT project since the dawn of the computer. All probably very messy and fragmented.

The NHS is so badly resourced and inadequately funded. The people who work in the NHS are incredible and if they were as poorly trained and educated as many doctors and nurses in America, we really would be in trouble.

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like spambots. I was pretty annoyed to check out the boards just now and see the amount of crap that's been posted. And nope, it's not normal - I often browse the forums at this time of night, and I've not come across this before - not in this quantity anyways.

Some days that just happens. There's no pattern to it. The other mod is usually around earlier than me so he often deletes it before anyone really sees it. He's the one who's cleared it this morning - as I informed misfit on twitter, I was otherwise engaged.
