That's a bit rich from you. Take a look at your own post history, Judgy McJudgenstein!

Calm down, I was smiling when I typed it. Your post made me giggle.

No, but there is LOADS of information about Jewish cooking around, and a lot of it is fab.

Mine arrived on Friday but I still haven't had chance to listen - I've put it on my mp3 player so I'll probably give it a listen on my way home from work this evening. These reviews aren't giving me a lot of hope though!

Chrysostom, on the suject of Jewish cooking - kveller.com has good recipes (also the home of Mayim Bialik's blog).

I like the album. It's not the best in the world, but t's good. 3/5 for me. In my opinion, The worst track is the first one on there. "An album by Chris Moyles".

You're happy with the two tracks that are literally saying "This is a filler track"?

Track 5 is your best song? That's by far the worst. This album is absolutely brilliant. It's just Chris having fun with some friends. And I've heard far more swearing on albums than this!

The reason I like Track 5 over the others is because it is the only one that didn't make me cringe! It really appealed to my childish taste in music.

I must admit though that after having a good nights sleep and giving the album another listen, I think I may have been quick to score this album at less than 1/10, I suppose it deserves at least a 3/10, but that is a generous 3/10 and probably only that generous because I love Chris and he has made me laugh countless times over the years.

I think I made the fatal mistake of listening to this album assuming it would be a huge Chris Moyles Show nostalgia trip, and that Comedy Dave, Dom and maybe even Tina with her awful singing voice may have made an appearance on a track or two. The closest person to a Chris Moyles Show regular on the album was Roy Walker, and the song he appeared on was awful!
I also can't help thinking that 'I Love My Penis' sounded suspiciously similar to 'Never Gonna Snow at Christmas'

Meh, maybe I am being too picky, but after listening to this album I have grown new love for his first album. That is how it should have been.

The truth is he's not really that polite.

And before I agree with Neil I shall run through the whole thing as I see/hear it.

He's gone and promoted this thing on squeaky clean platforms such as Daybreak (other Aled Jones) and that Lorraaiiinnee Kelleh. Then theres that very nice and civilised Sunday Brunch, and of course Xtra Factor. The whole things been carefully made to look like a charming dalliance with music's hip and young folk. And Gary and Robbie.

Saw the advert on telly too. It seemed to be playing the 3rd track on the album (Olly) Was it the parody, an instrumental or the original? I couldn't ascertain. Clever marketing, but, as some of us are now aware, it's a little off the hook and sounds like they'd had a few beers first.

"Piss off" says Moyles at the end of track 2, the swearing is obviously intentional, he's free! Schools' out motherhubbas!! A few Westwood sound effects wouldn't have sounded out of place.

Swearing, track after track after track. And he gets away with it, cos this is a different side to him.

Until Potty Training. I've deleted this one, cos it's very existence just ruins it. Theres not giving a rats ass and then theres s******g all over it. He's normally good at not pushing it too far.

Most the tracks have been dreamed up on the back of a beer mat I would imagine. But I agree, Dave was the parody genius, and this album's 'strategy' was to get as many celebs as possible, and there could've perhaps been more star quality if it wasn't for copywright permissions etc.

What do I like? The little sign-offs at the end of each one. Pixie's little laugh, Roy Walker 'I'm outta here!'. Corden was great, I would go as far as saying the swearing was needed to make it different to how it was on the show. It's worth a few more listens, it's by no means an outright fail, due to me being a fan of his radio/musical world.

In summary - I liked the change of direction but the project itself lacked because it didn't borrow from the show. The first album did, it was like an extension of Radio 1.

In a way, Yes.
My absolute favourite tracks on the album are:
"Too old for this"
"Not that polite"
"Insane"
"Track 5 (And a bit)"

I agree, this track is the lowest of the low out of all the parodies he has ever released, BUT, I also imagine after years of being forced to play utter bilge pop and club music on his show every day through means of a financial gun to his temple, this track sounds like a word for word rendition of the version he must have created in his head through countless times he had to listen to it... if you get what I mean :P

I find sometimes when I am listening to some of the utter crap they play on Radio 1 that I make up silly lyrics in my head when a repetitive club tune comes on!

I've given it another listen, and kinda liked Beep Beep in a "its not too awkward" way, but there's being self-deprecating, and then there's insulting those who have paid money for what is a very bad album (and I own Hepburn's only album). Afterall, he did the "this is a disappointing album track" gag on the first album.

Dont get me wrong, I'm a fan of Chris, but this album is just chuff.

Am I right in assuming he'd make very little money off an album like this? Paying royalties/appearance fees to all the other acts etc.

Yes, it's nothing but a Vanity Project. He's said in the past that he won't take writing royalties (for the lyrics), all that goes to the original artist, so he may make very little or nothing. Apparently, the first album sold 150,000 units, so if he does get a small cut of each disc he could actually make some dosh.

The same goes for JCS -- he didn't get paid a lot for that either.

I'm happier listening to old shows than his new album. I like the old Chris a lot more than the twitter spammer Chris. I understand he has an album to sell but it's getting to the point now where he is looking a bit desperate.

I've been watching that Jewish Mum of the Year show on Channel 4, and the food they made on that looked gorgeous.

That'll die down soon enough. It'll have to, at the very least because he'll have other projects in the future.

I've listened to about half of it so far. And I agree that Potty Training is an embarrassment. It disheartens me that he's seen fit to commit that to CD.
