They're very irritating. I rarely use the Team_Moyles account - and certainly not much for personal tweeting. They ask me to mention them a lot, and highlight their 'Dominic the Donkey for XMas No.1' campaign - I don't, simply because I don't want to spam people.

I will be attempting a 'Dominick the Donkey for the (week before) Christmas No. 2' campaign however.

And also using the account to get topless pictures sent to me.

And #FFing my personal account.

I totally understand that thing of generally wanting to be a follower of someone but then becoming annoyed when they suddenly start heavily promoting something or otherwise becoming repetitive.

I think the difference is that with Chris it is a primary marketing tool - and he doesn't have a consistent platform to relay his information like he did with his radio show. Also, bear in mind that other Radio stations won't play his parody tracks (even if he was to release them as singles).

Right. That's not spam. Spam on twitter is by spambots and people who have hacked logins and whatnot - you're not being spammed if someone you follow is posting messages, you're not forced to read them - you're choosing to read them.

Maybe you should unfollow.

Or you can disable retweets from the offending party, that sometimes helps if they're doing a ton of RTing compliments (argh). Or certain apps allow you to mute people for a period of time, which might be easier than unfollowing and refollowing.

That's a good point, I'd forgotten about turning off RTs.

I also employ a two strike piersmoron rule.

I've done that with a lot of my friends who are football fans. Cuts down on the amount of stuff in my timeline that just means nothing to me (Vienna).

why should I have to unfollow, I appreciated the show.
All I wanted was that they stopped spamming (ill use that word if i want) the hell of of the team and my timeline. they clearly read the forums as they retweeted ricky gervais saying something about following then disliking the tweets.

Well, at the end of the day twitter is just a choice. Like I say, there are options like turning off retweets, but ultimately there's really no point in following someone and then complaining about their tweets.

If you find the information they're publishing to be boring, repetitive, annoying and to be spamming YOU, then either you should unfollow, or at the very least stop complaining. You're choosing to have the information appear in your timeline - YOU are the one who signed up for it, and allow it to appear.

But to whinge about it when in reality you're not actually contributing anything to them is like a child demanding attention, or like someone wandering in during a film and demanding to know what's going on. Donnie.

They don't just exist to keep YOU entertained you know.
