Some people are saying that it is brilliant, other people are saying that it is awful. I think the only thing anyone can take from that information is that some people like it and others don't - how you apply that to the question "is it worth buying" is a mystery to me.

The Difficult Second Album is at number 7 in the mid week albums chart. It could be higher than that in the albums chart on Sunday. I got it on Monday and I would say to anyone that hasn't bought it yet to get it.

I've listened to it all now and I'm sad to say it is indeed terrible. It's become blatantly obvious that Dave was the writing talent. I agree about the gratuitous swearing and infantile comedy - none of the clever humour of the older parodies. I was really looking forward to this album and I'm just disappointed. It's made me worried that from hereon Chris will be content to rest on his laurels and put out substandard work (in whatever form), knowing that because of his following from the radio show, people will buy it. Sad times.

I've not got/heard it yet... I will prob buy it, jus' to satisfy my curiosity, but I'm mildly gutted by some of the feedback on here already.

Here's hoping!

That review is obviously written by someone who didn't like Chris to start with, but I'm sad to say I agree with some of the comments. I will say that I think the Gary Barlow track is the best one of the bunch.

^^ to be fair, reading that all I seem to read is "i'm a twat, I'm a twat". the bloke clearly dislikes Moyles (and a few others mentioned in it) so is hardly in a suitable position to give a decent product review.

He might be bang on the money with his comments, but when you dress them up with so much unrelated negativity, you can't fail but to jus' look a twunt.

As CD would say "Who cares what you think".

Andy Dawson is a funny man himself (I follow him on Twitter @profanityswan) - but yes, he pretty much hates Chris.

Chris tweeted a link to this video made by someone who can't spell "Yeah" or "their":

I have listened to it all and, for the most part, it is dreadful. There were a couple of moments that made me chuckle, and the guest singers are pretty good, but lyrically it is appalling by whatever criteria you are judging it.

Just got round to listening to it and yep, it is pretty mediocre! The only songs I probably could listen to again are Insane and Charity Song! I don't like that Heatwave song from Wiley to begin with but using that tune with Potty training and the lyrics is just plain bad! I can listen to the majority of the tracks from The Parody Album and the ones one here again but can't say the same here!

Listened to it on Spotify and glad I didn't pay for it.

I can understand the gratuitous swearing being a bit of a statement that this is the real Chris, not the reigned in version you get on Radio 1 - and it shouldn't be a surprise if you've read the book or even watched Quiz Night. But it's just not funny.

Some of the funniest jingles on the Breakfast show were the ones where the rhyme made you think a particular unbroadcastable word was coming up at the end of the last line. Chris is better than this.

The Difficult Second Album is at number 13 in this week's album chart. It could get higher up the chart soon. It's higher in the chart than the first Chris Moyles album got.

Could be due to Chris' endless tweets about it.

In which case presumably you can understand why he did it.

Yeah it doesn't bother me that much. If I was in his position I would be doing the same. It must be working yet it costs nothing to do.

I was in two minds about whether to listen to it or not. I had it for three days before I played. I think you are better off listening to it just so you can make an informed opinion on Chris' current work. That's the reason I listened to it and I don't regret it.

Having done nothing more than browsed quickly through the comments, did anyone actually enjoy the parodies and think they were funny?

After the first listen.

Even the stuff Weird Al did was only really listenable once, after that it's just a bit cringeworthy, isn't it?

Some grow on you, I liked Olly and Corden.

Insane is worth a few listens as Chris turning out to be Barlows stalker is quite funny. I like the mellowness of it.
