OK Guys, with the R1 schedule being in the state most of us feel it's in, if we were in Ben Cooper's position who would we ideally have doing the shows? (Use any DJ you want who's currently still presenting somewhere.)
I'll start:

Early Breakfast - Sara Cox (Think she's brilliant to wake up to, and putting her on Early Breakfast would keep this)
Breakfast - Take a wild guess!!(He'd be welcomed back to the Breakfast Show with the offer of a lifetime R1 contract)
Mid Morning - Dev (I want to see him on a daytime show anyway now, think he's got the potential to develop more)
Early Afternoon - Jo Whiley (I have a soft spot for her and I think that time of day would suit her best)
Drivetime - Nihal (I like his presenting style and don't think Radio 1 use him enough)
Early Evening - Grimmy (This slot would suit him better anyway I think, and he wouldn't be being restricted by anybody)
9-10PM - Zane Lowe (I quite like him but think 1 hour of him would be long enough)
10-Midnight - Colin Murray (I loved it when he did this show)

That's a first draft and maybe subject to change!

I'd have Mayo in early afternoons, Steve Wright (vintage) in drive Kenny Everett in for Zane and 10 - midnight would be Nicky Campbell.

And Chris Evans back doing his old Sunday show.

I have to totally disagree with this. I happen to think Nihal is used far too much and is probably the only current radio1 dj that would be more painful listening than Grimshaws show. (I like grimmy but hate his breakfast show)

I'm not entirely sure if some of these are still in the DJ business but this is my suggestion:
Monday to Thursday would be:
04:00 - 06:30 = J.K & Joel
06:30 - 10:30 = Chris Moyles
10:30 - 13:00 = Colin & Edith
13:00 - 16:00 = Greg James
16:00 - 19:00 = Nick Grimshaw
And on Friday:
04:00 - 07:00 = J.K & Joel
07:00 - 10:00 = Chris Moyles
10:00 - 13:00 = Greg James
13:00 - 16:00 = Mark & Lard
16:00 - 19:00 = Kissy Sell Out

Chris Moyles obviously on breakfast, back to the old schedule with Simon Mayo with the Golden Hour at 9. Lunchtime was probably always my least listened to daytime slot but thought Jo Whiley was generally OK so she can have 11-1 or 12-2. Then I'd have Mark and Lard in the afternoon, and Scott Mills (Chappers and Laura era) at drivetime.

(Scott and his team come up with some great features. I'm a big fan. I may also be personally responsible for why he has no show introducers anymore...)

01.00 - 04.00 John Peel (R.I.P) (realistically Huw Stevens)

16.00-19.00 Scott Mills (best show left on R1 at the mo and wrongly bumped down for Greg)
19.00-22.00 MistaJam (only listenable show on 1xtra and seeing as style of music is now v similar to a lot of R1 he might as well be moved over.
22.00-4.00 Is anyone listening overnight? Certainly not enough to justify the expense! Could there just be non-stop music overnight. Maybe guests could pick the overnight music or maybe there could be some sort of automated request system?

I used to listen on Sky + to skip music, Iplayer was a massive pain... I now wait in anticipation for the podcast (replays) to be put up.... Just wish we could have had a show each time of just Chris and the team... I love music but the banter and chat always was what I rolled with.

Fair enough.
Luckiley he is too old for Radio 1 so will NEVER get to do such a stupid thing as appear on his own show for them.
At this current moment in time if you have pubes and an atoms worth of talent you won't get a show anyway.
