Looking for some advice here more than anything.

Since The Team's departure my whole schedule has been messed up.

Currently

TalkSport > Absolute 90s/Captial FM > Local Radio for news (Northsound) > Scott Mills.

Whenever I've heard Sara Cox on Radio 2 she isn't even close to being as entertaining as she is on Radio 1.

Radio 2 is just too stuffy and bland for me. It's as if Sara is told to leave her personality at the door when she works there.

I've tried listening to a few R2 programs. The one I've come to really like is Simon Mayo's drivetime show. The music's OK - not great mind you - but he does a fair amount of talk with his crew which I like quite a bit. Maybe it's an age thing (I'm 50), but it works for me. It also helps that drivetime for you over in the UK is right at my lunch hour so I can listen to it live during lunch.

Yuds, let me just make this point.

KEN BRUCE IS A BLOODY SAINTED DJ.

I love Ken Bruce, I really do, even though I seem to remember him on the Radio 30 odd years ago, when you listen to him he is so modest, self effacing, funny, light hearted and Kindly natured, I just love him. Pop Master is the best Radio Feature on UK Radio IMO.

He is the only think I have to Thank Fern Cotton for, as as soon as she speaks the dial is turned!

Oh he's awful Boboff. Its bad enough BEING old - I don't want my radio to make me FEEL old and that's what ken Bruce does. Wogan was the same - only worse.

The only thing Radio 1 succeeded in doing from my point of view is stop me listening to the breakfast show. Other than that I still listen pretty much as I always did. It's only the breakfast show that has been aimed squarely at teens.

I can't say that I've noticed any real change to the other shows.

Mmmm
Greg is awful as well. he makes me cringe
Mills made me cringe as well, but not enough to switch off as i quite liked his side-kicks, i know many don't, but i did
I liked Wogan and i like Bruce, but more from the point of view that i never felt forced to listend to them very often.
Bruce took over from Pete Murray or Jimmy young. Colin Berry was in the mix as well.
hard to remeber i was born in 1971 and most of this was pre the age of 10.
I got my first transistor radio when i was 5...a ploy to keep me in bed until after 7 am when i used to wake between 5:00 and 6:00...
I started with the shipping forcast and then flicked between 1 and 2 for songs i liked. mainly shawaddywaddy and Gary Glitter. My ears were opend in late 1977 thank gawd.
Days when both stations allowed the music to dicatate the listnership and TV shows like TOTPs and Old Grey Whistle test dictate taste based purely on the free hand they gave their guests in everything BUT the right to sing the current single recording of their song, all backing tracks had to be re recorded or live.

Radio 1 just doesn't want us anymore..

Buggles were not correct, video did not kill the radio star, but i have sympathy with their sentiment, radio station managment, the new tin pan alley, DAB and the internet enabled device, killed the radio star
