So went and googled some images to see if a flashback happened or something.
Nope. Bugger all.

Me neither. I fear we may be too old, Badger.

My money is on that being the show R1 want Moyles to do.

According to this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... cided.html (yes it's The Daily Mail, I know)

'Radio 1 is keeping the 10pm slot, for years occupied by John Peel, available for Moyles. But a source tells me: ‘The longer Chris delays, the more likely it is he won’t return at all.'

I trust the Daily Mail fully. I'd let the editor babysit my children.

(If someone could post a photo that best represents sarcasm for me it would be much appreciated)

It's not about whether you trust the Mail or not. Four months after it was announced that timeslot was becoming vacant it still hasn't been filled. Fearne Cotton, Reggie Yates, Vernon Kay, Sara Cox and Chris himself have all been replaced in that time (apart from Fearne, all on the same day. Hers was within weeks.).

Given that both Radio 1 and Chris have both said that they are in discussions about a return, and that it would be a be different to what he had done before, where do you think it might be?

I've always said I'd like Chris to do holiday cover for Scott Mills and Greg James. It means he is on the Radio and also gives him the time he needs to pursue his other projects.

Fair enough, but that doesn't explain the four month delay in filling the 10pm timeslot.

Yeah it is a weird one. For all we know Chris could have agreed to take over the 10pm slot ages ago. Perhaps Radio 1 want to make it a big surprise in the new year. It's a funny old time for him to be on though. Although if he has other projects on the go it does free him up in the day time.

If I were a betting man I'd be prepared to put quite a lot of money on Chris not returning to Radio 1.

The Muppets Happy Song was, I'm afraid, his salute to the station.

The station has changed direction.

New building. New direction. Seems like it would be a backward step for everyone. I'm sad to think.

I like the fact he's still down on there as 'Radio 1's Breakfast Show host'.

I think it'd be great if CM got the 10pm slot... He was open during his breakfast show years to admit at that time of day he is at his most awake! Sure, few other things would have to change in his personal life to make it work, but only as much as when he changed from PM's to AM's 9 years ago...

Yes, I agree. I'd love to listen to Chris at nightimes. I'm sure he'd do a great job.

Well he won't be doing the 10pm slot. Phil Taggart has just tweeted that he will be Co-presenting it permanently with someone called Alice Levine from January.

I can't see any other vacancies at Radio 1 now.

He's not coming back folks. When the breakfast slot on Radio 2 comes up he will probably return but that will be dependent on what his career is doing by then. I wish Chris would realise he is the best radio host in the world and stick to it.

Guess its proper over now. I look forward to hearing Chris on Radio 2 or FiveLive elsewhere. 2013 really is a new era for Radio 1.

I think its probaly best. I'm not sure how a late night show could work. I hope Aled will be steering the late night show production wise? We shall see.

Not necessarily!!

A spokesman said there would be further talks with the 38-year-old in January.

Communications manager Rick Behari said: "We will be meeting with Chris in January to discuss possible future projects with him on Radio 1."

Nothing definite, but Chris' radio 1 career clearly isn't over just yet :D

Edit: Yet a JCS tour in March :?

Who knows whether he'll ever be back then.

Well I've just read the article in the post above. He's not getting the 10pm slot then but it says there will be further talks in January about Chris's future at radio 1. I guess it's not certain he's not returning yet. :D

Highly unlikely he'll walk straight in to the R2 breakfast show even Evans did drive first. Maybe that rumoured documentary for them followed by some holiday cover (perhaps Graham Norton's show on Saturday mornings). My long term hope is he takes over from Steve Wright at some point then maybe breakfast. As you say though it will depend what he's doing and I also hope he decides radio is best for him.
