No, any sugar. All sugar except that which is naturally present in a food you are eating.

Ah, I see. I managed to get myself down to only 1/2 a spoon in my tea, but struggle to cut that last bit out. Don't really have sugar with anything else...

Oh, and I've ordered myself the WP-MP3 player, will let you know what its like...

Do you eat sweets? Biscuits? Cakes, puddings, desserts in general? Honey roast peanuts and cashewnuts (yes, honey counts as added sugar)? Ice cream? Lollies? Soft drinks?

Its not just about what you spoon out of the packet onto your food.

Not really, no. I'm not a sweet toothed person as a general rule. Dessert, I usually stick to yogurt, although there may be the odd treat at the weekend for pudding when we have both the girls. (in fact this weekend jus' gone I got us some cheeky mini-choco-cakes, which i was shocked to read were 730 calories per cake!).

Used to be a sucker for Coke (cola, not the other type) but have pretty much knocked that on the head, again, maybe just a 500ml bottle to go with some Saturday night voddy!

Even things like jarred pasta sauces can be quite salty as well. You realise that when you make some yourself and don't add any.

Salt isn't the massive issue that people like to think it is either. Again, its only going to be a problem if you eat a lot of processed foods and pre-prepared stuff, and then also add salt to it. A cardiac specialist told me once that in order to consume enough salt to do you any harm, you would have to add so much to your food that you probably wouldn't be able to eat it anyway.

A widely held yet overly simplistic and ultimately unhelpful view.

See, now I know this was brushed upon in another thread (Legal highs), but I think we live in a topsy-turvy world when it comes to drug use/abuse. We live in a society where an individual can be chastised for admitting to smoking a spliff, but where its socially acceptable to admit to being a caffiene addict, yet both are drugs in one form or another.

Also, we have so many consumables in day to day life, that were these things to be invented/discovered today, with what we now know about them, they'd never be passed as acceptable to sell on to the general public in an above board and 'legal' manor. Tobacco, alcohol, cola, to name a few.

'Tis a funny old world...

I don't think I've ventured in to this thread before, and I don't tend to keep track of my weight at regular intervals but I realised recently I've lost a stone in a year just by cleaning up my diet and severely cutting down my nasty cider consumption. Rather chuffed!

HEY YUDDLES!

My waterproof MP3 player arrived yesterday, so off I toddled to the pool, with some trepidation. I lowered myself in with caution, half expecting it to shock me, or blow up, or something similar, but to my surprise it all worked great! Works just peachy under water!

Now, given the unit spraps onto my goggles, but has a red flashing light on it when playing, I'll admit to getting some funny looks as I swim up and down looking like the Terminator, but from my point of view, it was spot on. The music distracted me from counting the lengths (widths) I was swimming, but equally meant my 45 mins in the pool flew by!

Had a few minor issues with the headphone cable routing, but when I got home last night I set about 'em with some of those wire tie thingys and have now got it all nicely tidied up and mounted on my goggles with no trailing wires.

Its ruddy ace and I can't wait to use it again! :D

I love Lottie, she's my friend.

Well not really. We have spoke occasionally in the chatroom. I don't think the term friend would be applicable. Although I hope I do garner a modicum of respect. But probabaly not. This doesn't scan very well does it?

Edit -
Well done on the continued weight loss Lottie. V.Well done.
