Arrow is BRILLIANT! How can you say its a bit rubbish? It IS DC comics in every way, its just fantastic!

Oh I do like Arrow, it's just a bit guilty-pleasurey really. There's something there that makes me think it's a little bit cheesy but, y'know, I still enjoy it! Incidentally I do find myself wondering if Oliver's sister, nicknamed "speedy" will turn out to BE Speedy from the DC universe.

God, sometimes I forget how geeky I can actually be.

I don't know enough about DC comics to know, but I thought Arrow/Oliver Queen was a DC character - Green Arrow? So I was assuming that the TV series had at least a passing resemblance to the Green Arrow story - whatever that is?

Was curious what "BFQOTY" could possibly be. Before I went to the almighty google I took a stab at "Bare Foot Queen of the Year." At least I got "of the Year" right.

Yudster wrote:I got the box set for the first 2 series of Sherlock because I missed most of season 2. I had forgotten how awesome it is. On a separate though related note, I am still really enjoying Elementary - but I do think you have to come to it with no expectation that it is in any way related to anything Conan Doyle wrote.

Yes, Elementary is surprisingly good. I didn't have high hopes when I first heard about it as it reeked of an American network cashing in on the success of Sherlock over here but thankfully, I was wrong and I'm really enjoying it so far. Shame we have to wait until late 2013 for the new Sherlock series.

I'm also enjoying Arrow, despite it being a bit, well, rubbish really. I think my enjoyment is down to me being a comic geek and playing "spot the DC character" - I giggled when Huntress appeared and it looks like they're introducing the Oracle (despite the character NOT being Barbara Gordon). Also John Barrowman is always amusing.

The Walking Dead has just hit the mid-season break in season three and it's back on form after a fairly dull season two. David Morissey as the Governor is just pure evil.

Oh and finally, only three months until season 3 of Game of Thrones, after which I'll be able to talk to people about a certain event that happens in the books without massively spoiling things for them.

Although I've only seen a couple of episodes of Elementary, I heard a recent discussion that it's not so much a version of SH as a reboot of Monk. I don't think that's too far off the mark.

Not watching Arrow, although I've heard many good things about it - I was never much of a DC fan which could explain my lack of interest in it. More of a Marvel fan.

Love The Walking Dead. Yes, S3 is better than S2, but S2 was hampered by a severely limited budget. The network that puts out TWD devoted huge parts of it's budget last year to Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Everybody else had to fight over the scraps of money that remained. This was partly why the original show runner, Frank Darabont, left the show. There's a couple of spin off novels by the guy who created the original graphic novels that give a ton of backstory to The Governor. For fans of the show, they're definitely worth checking out - although they're very grim reading and tough to get through just because of all the carnage.

Did you know that book 3 of GOT (Storm of Swords) is going to be split into 2 seasons on HBO? The book's so big that they couldn't fit it all into one season. So the big spoiler you're referring to (I'm pretty sure I know which one you're talking about) may not show up until the following season.

BFQ 2012 was very funny, the chap from the IT crowd (in my mind it's our Chrys) was really excellent. Matt Corden and the Posh one were absolute Pub Man Humour tastic! (i.e. lots about wanking and bumming......Badger?????)

Think Badger, think wanking and bumming.
Well boboff does.
I'm very ok with that.

Citv is 30 years old & so the citv channel is showing classic programmes this weekend. I've just watched Fun House. Tomorrow includes Dangermouse & Rosie & Jim! Real children's tv in my opinion!

The 3rd series of Misfits finally started on Logo (a cable channel here in the States) last night. I like the way they mixed up all their powers.

Why is it on the gay channel?

I have wondered that myself! Normally I DVR the show and I zip through the commercials. Last night I watched it live and ended up seeing some adverts that were a bit out of the ordinary from my perspective. Not that there's anything wrong with that (to quote Seinfeld).

Doctor Who this Christmas was great, and I too am intrigued on how the Clara/Oswin thing will play out. Have to say that Africa on BBC 1 last week was superb as well, the bit with the Giraffes fighting was amazing to watched, never realised Giraffes ever did things like that, will definitely be tuning into that every week.

However for the last month or so I have been watching vintage TV, Cheers, Spaced, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Porridge & Black Books and have enjoyed all of them a lot. Cheers has aged rather well (even if the hair & clothes haven't), Spaced is still brilliantly off-beat and Buffy has held up suprisingly well considering it ended 10 years ago, plus Alyson Hannigan has hardly aged much at all in 15 years (the series started in 1997).

Porridge is obviously dated but still funny due to the excellent Ronnie Barker and Black Books to me is still a very under rated sitcom (every time I ask if someone has ever seen it, when we get onto the subject of sitcoms, they say they have never heard it).

Currently I am rewatching Seinfeld, and I have to say again what a brilliant sitcom it still is, The Soup Nazi in particular is a wonderful episode "No soup for you!" Just a shame BBC 2 dumped it on at midnight, deserved to get a much bigger audience than it did.

Sherlock series 3 starts filming in March according to Stephen Moffat, who said so on Simon Mayo's show just before Christmas... which, as Simon Mayo commented, suggests it's not imminent. I need to know how Sherlock survives!

Apparently Sherlock might not air until 2014, dependent on how filming goes.

Re the last series - two things. First, remember in the Baskerville episode - the morse code being signalled from the moor was never tied up was it? Or did I miss it? Second - the key to Sherlock's "suicide" is Molly. No idea how, but she is definitely the key.

I got series 1 and 2 for Christmas - can you tell?!

Yes - I agree about Molly. Didn't he ask her to do something as a favour, but we don't know what yet?

My 2 newest discoveries on Netflix are Modern Family and The League. The League's a lot more crass, and there have been a couple of episodes where it's become too ridiculous to enjoy fully but they're both pretty hilarious.

Yep. At least he said "I need you" or "I want you" or something suggestive. I really like Molly.

Wasn't Molly on hand at the bottom of the building to pronounce death? Forgive me, been a while since I saw it. Also, one of the irregulars delayed Watson from getting to Holmes's "body" - and, if memory serves, there was a lorry nearby with remarkably soft looking "stuff" loaded into it...So maybe Holmes jumped into the lorry, had his fall cushioned and Molly deposited a fresh corpse in similar clothing nearby to where Watson thought he should have landed. All the passers by could quite easily be Baker street irregulars.

Either that or the tardis picked him up mid-plummet and deposited him safely.

The League is fantastic. It's not really about sport, so anyone can enjoy it.

The most recent season was a mixed bag, though.

Yes, I've just wikipedia-d it and the lights were the results of doggers flashing.

"Watson is briefly misled by headlights flashing across the moor, mistaking it for Morse Code; likewise, in the novel, Watson and Sir Henry catch Barrymore signalling across the moor with a candle, but it turns out to have nothing to do with the murder;"

Course it was!

I think we saw Holmes actually hit the floor - I don't remember that there was any ambiguity as to whether the fall could have been broken by the lorry, but there may have been.

Since the lovely Mrs Badger got me an xBox for Chrimbo's, I too have been delving into the world of Netflix and I just gotta say Dexter is totes fabubollocks.

Some proper snigger moments mixed in with a crime/cop/forensic/serial killer format.

As I mentioned above. Totes fabubollocks.
