^^ This is a conversation often had in our household when little-miss veggy brings up cruelty to animals... I highlight the cruelty to veg too; these poor carrots, grabbed by the hair and yanked out the ground, separated from their loved ones, chopped, boiled... 'tis a nasty business!

Once a confused waitress in a pub-restaurant asked me if I ate coconut milk. I said yes and then added "I don't think coconuts scream when you squeeze them." I don't think she got it.

I'd rather watch top of the pops with bowie, the stones, the beatles, kiss, etc than some of the shit around today.

Deadly said very clearly that the music from that era is some of the best ever recorded. What is is less inspired by is those same artists still thinking that they can still get away with it now. They really can't. The Stones are just embarrassing to watch these days, with Keith Richard gradually crumbling away in front of your eyes and Mick Jagger pretending to be sexy at the age of god knows what. Paul McCartney is a bloated, botoxed and Just For Men addled wreck of his former self who can hardly hold a tune any more and don't get me started on the nauseating thing that is Iggy Pop, who also used to be brilliant. I hope Bowie bucks the trend.

I agree with you re the Stones, McCartney & Iggy Pop, but I think with Bowie it's a little different, he hasn't released an album in 10 years, I think they were hinting that this was more or less his farewell album before he retired completely. Hopefully he can inspiring as he has done in the past because TBH music does need a bit of a kick up the arse again & it'd be great if Bowie inspires the next generation of musicians.

Seeing as the seller now has bids of over £153,000, I'd say it's more a laugh from her than anything.

Exactly. Although having changed the pic on the actual listing, it has certainly generated enough interest in an eBay sale item.

'tis a tactic I may enploy myself next time I'm selling something...

Look forward to viewing your 'items' Lottie!

First grand slam of the year and I have all this week off Uni to stay up at stupid times watching the Aussie open. Murray had a cracking start on Tuesday and Watson is in to the 3rd round. All good so far :)

Are you sure the pit in the garden is deep enough? If not, the kids will manage to climb out before you get back and there will be hell to pay...
