Why, oh why have they held it somewhere where they have to say two names every time they refer to it to avoid offending anyone?

Oh, it's political. The council only applied to change the name in 2006, which is why there was no issue with it in 04.

Northern Ireland has been overdue a Big Weekend for a while now, and yes it may be a bit strange to have it in the same location twice but its not a big place for people to get around. There aren't a lot of places around that could hold events such as this!

If you wanna talk about places that shouldn't have got the Big Weekend then Hackey should be at the top of your list, didn't see their understanding of "The olympics are coming to London as well as lots of other events so let's hold a huge free music concert as well"

If you REALLY want to talk about places that shouldn't have it then you should mention the North West. Manchester, Preston and Carlisle. Bangor's not a million miles away either.

Never been to Yorkshire.

Great venue in Campbell park or the MK bowl. Good transport links etc.

YES - although I imagine the cost of hosting at the Bowl is prohibitive, given that you only really get massive acts who know they will sell out playing there. Campbell Park though, yeah.

It was in Leicester 3 or 4 years running back when it was just One Big Sunday. We seem to have suffered from that though as I don't think it's been in the Midlands since.

Me2, don't listen to R1 anymore so all this jazz will completely pass me by. Certainly won't miss the over promotion of the event tho.

As much as I got annoyed with the build up the big weekend, it's an event I always looked forward to with Chris and team.

Seems silly to go back to where they've been before when there are plent of other places to go....
