Some still do, although there is the "Too Posh to Wash" brigade who would rather play Bubbles at the Nurses Station!

The thing I never realized is how mad and horrible and offensive a little old lady gets with a UTI, (bladder infection) it's like they all revert to being a pissed up Glasweigen on a Saturday night, amaze balls

I completely agree that nurses are undervalued and overworked. (although some have some really well designed buildings to work in... :) )

Although i do think its nice that Mrs Bob works so hard so bobert can sit on his arse all day, thats love.

After months of it happening to everyone but me, but I've finally caught a cold. :( I'm going dancing this evening and am determined that it won't stop me (especially with the £10 ticket), although I may drink nothing but orange juice all night.

I don't understand people who drink alcohol during a bad cold. When you don't feel any good and can't even taste much anyway, it's a total waste.

Hmmmm.

The fact that you want to makes you a great Dad prospect.

Start with the wife, kids, low overheads, approach, and see how you get on.

The serious point is that if you are happy as a family, both respect what each other does, and you value your time together, what happens if you choose is it too is always going to be for the best.

Stupid people are annoying me today. And I mean properly stupid - not just a bit out of their depth, but proper full-on probably-need-reminding-to-breathe thick. They are FAR more difficult to work with than the ones with autism.

I have some knowledge of what it is now and it's not that bad and not worthy of being called an emergency meeting. I could have just put a memo out.

We knew what was coming, we had a new guy start who was working closely with management and when someone googled his name he actually worked a company that goes into other people's business's and "trims the fat"

Well, what a weekend.

One of my best mates birthdays recently, so as me and the chums had a child free evening on Saturday we'd arranged to go out for a few beers in Hinckley. Great evening, until...

My mate managed to find some conflict and got knocked out. Problem was he then went down like a sack of spuds, cracking his head on the pavement. So, I ended up spending all of saturday night in hospital with him. He has a broken nose and has fractured his skull in two places, which is leaking brain juice out of the fracture and out of his ear. He's got to stay in as he's in a real bad way. No work for weeks, no driving for a month and he may never recover hearing in his right ear. S'all a waiting game at the monent.

Great stuff. :(

it was, to a point. Lovely curry etc, all nice.

Thank you. Just exchanged a text with him, he's still got to stay in as his leaking brain juice is getting worse... They're sure he doesn't have brain damage, but are very concerned about his leaking.

All the best to your friend, dtj. My mate was recently involved in something similar too, but his injury wasn't as bad. Him and his friend tried to stop some guys beating up a single guy and ended up with his jaw broken. Some people should just be spayed.

Well the work meeting was worse than I feared. As it stands we won't be able to pay the staff for March and we have a maximum of 10 weeks to cut costs. I don't mind letting people go who do a bad job but I'm going to have to ruin the lives of friends who work hard too. I'm by no means safe either.

I have to fill out and hand in my GCSE options form by March 1st. I seriously don't know what to do. The only subject I'm actually interested in is Drama. I have no clue what to do and I don't want to make the wrong choices. This part of school life is so stressful.

English lit & lang go very well with drama, especially if you like writing essays. If you do like writing essays, then I would also throw in religious studies. - Useful if you want to do Communications Studies at A-Level.

History is very interesting - as is Geography.

ICT and Business are pretty easy too.

Drama, DT & Home Economics are all good fun too.

Biology, Chemistry & Physics are all quite standard and easy to get on board with - useful if you want to do them at A-Level as they're quite transferrable.

Then Maths. If you can get in at intermediate level (capped at a B) then it's SO easy.

If you like a language, chuck one of those in. I did German and it was quite easy to pick up.

How many do your school do? I think ours was 12

Just remember sometimes they require your gcse subjects as a prerequisite for particular a levels, definitely something to bear in mind.
