Today's mildly curious football fact/question.

In David Moyes's Everton tenure, he's had 48 away league games against Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, how many of those games has he won?

Nope.

I'm a Liverpool fan, I'm not going to post a question about an Everton manager if it's not going to make him look useless.

Although to be fair, I could have been misinformed but I'm * if I'm checking a fact on the internet.

I'm only shocked that he hasnt beaten liverpool...thats a poor record, atleast the other teams are in the top 4 in England!

And lets face it, this season at least, beating Liverpool has been something the other clubs are doing for fun.

More importantly, here's Amos the donkey, Barnsley's official mascot ahead of the 1910 cup final. There should be more of this kind of thing before FA cup finals.

Actually, there's a Suarez/Carroll strike partnership gag there in the pic I linked. Buggered if I can think of it.

Suarez is off to one of them there fancy pants CL participating clubs this summer incidentally. Who wants him?

Suarez comes with various issues, but I can't believe any decent club wouldn't be interested. He is a very good striker and at the right club, would get very better.

Sorry but that needs highlighting..."very better"?

Anyway, last night saw the return of "Rafa's rants". Hurrah!

Wouldn't say it was a rant. He was absolutely correct in what he was saying and it sounds like he was brought to the club under false pretences.

Oh aye he was, I'm just playing to the gallery.

Chelsea are a detestable club from top to bottom so I'm losing no sleep over their continual turnover of managers.

I love it when Rafa loses it.

The recent spat with Materrazi brilliant.

Marco Materazzi wrote: "He is not my ideal coach. If I was a club president, I'd never employ him. A great boss like Marcello Lippi or Mourinho knows how to get their demands across to a dressing room. Whereas Benítez, well he wanted to put them all in writing, 10 or 12 rules, like the Highway Code or being at school.

At Inter's training centre there were photos on the wall of all the most successful past coaches, from Helenio Herrera to Roberto Mancini and Mourinho. Benítez had the ones of José taken down. With that gesture, he showed his character: that of a weak person."

Rafa Benitez wrote:"In Italy everyone knows Materazzi, and at Inter everyone knows him," he said. "He's lying. He's lying. He's lying, just lying. Everything he has said is a lie. Simple."

If Rafa feels then he is under too much pressure, or unfair treatment from the fans - then the last thing he should do is make his position untenable by blaming the fans and start crying 'constructive dismissal'.

He was an idiot for taking on the poisoned chalice, but fans should start aiming their anger at Abramovich for running their club as a shambles, they can't as they owe him everything - so they hide behind criticising the manager.

Of course Chelsea fans won't want to have a go at Abramovich, he's got them to where they are by spunking buckets of cash over players faces like it's some kind of financial bukkake. Benitez is an easy target for the fan's vitriol after 2005 but, no, he should never have taken the job, whoever follows is an idiot.

But, basically, it's Chelsea. * them.

It was deliberate. I know its incorrect construction, but I like to do things like that occasionally. I'm kooky like that.

charlalottie wrote:Of course we're going to be supportive of Roman as his money has brought about the most successful time under Chelsea's history.

Fixed

Your owner is responsible for the lack of managerial stability, your owner is responsible for appointing Benitez and your owner is responsible for the manager persevering with Torres. He was also responsible for Shevchenko being brought into a team that wouldn't suit him, and your most successful manager leaving over personal differences.

If you don't like how the club is performing on the pitch, assess all of the variables. Not just the one that's easiest to criticise.

charlalottie wrote:...having a go at the fans and trying to say that they are to blame is we don't get fourth is a bit pathetic in my opinion. The fans are the ones paying, it's the team that are playing and therefore directly responsible for results.

Atmosphere is very important in football - a bad crowd can make a huge difference. If Chelsea fans spent half as much effort on supporting their team as they did bashing Benitez when he's winning matches - then you might be in with a shout of getting second.

We've got the same issue at the Emirates, and I think it's abhorrent when our fans do it when we're losing.
