Do you really love the lamp or are you just saying it because you saw it?

What does Lineny mean?

Ok, looked it up - one of the most flimsy adjectives I have ever come across. If I was describing something as being like linen, I would never use that word - "linen-like" is far nicer.

An adjective used to describe something with linen like qualities.

"Her skin was unusual, there was an odd smoothness to it - not like marble, nor like silk. It provided friction, but without resistance. Ineffable, lineny, lifeless...but beautiful"

I opened this topic up hoping Yudster had replied with "I too luvcoks" but alas I got a dictionary definition.

Still turned on though.

I'm not disputing that in absolute terms, ie it is in the dictionary, it is a legitimate word - just that it is one that should never be used. There are LOADS of words that are absolutely ok for Scrabble or Countdown or whatever, but if you use them for anything else you are a twat.

Scrabble would be a much better game if you were limited to words that are actually useful.

The good thing is that I think Pete would like that comparison.

Argh! Decisions decisions decisions! I should be happy that I've finally been offered a placement but right now there's so much convincing me not to take it! Ill be uprooting myself again for another year to a brand new place where ill be alone, and the place where id be working is basically in the middle of nowhere so I'd have to sort out a car and insurance and I haven't driven since passing 2 years ago. Then there's my dad saying that driving is a bad move and I should find a way of getting a bus instead but that seems even more of a nightmare. Then on top of all that it would put a massive strain on my relationship, which I'm trying not to let affect my decision. I was also excited about the idea of doing a placement year and currently this isn't exciting me, it's just scaring me more than anything.

I think for now I'm gonna go through and accept it all then if I have to let them down last minute then yeah it isn't very loyal or nice on the company or anything but not a lot can really happen.

It does look as though it isn't absolutely ideal, but almost nothing in life is. I think on the whole you are probably doing the right thing - you are actually keeping your options as open as possible, which is the percentage route. Hope it clarifies for you soon Ben.

Dog owners. "Hoho, don't worry, he's just being friendly, he won't bite."

* off, your flea infested, mangy disease vector is NOT being friendly when it's barking and growling at me. Keep the * thing on a * leash you * *.

I don't get on with dogs, if anyone's wondering.

Also, shopping bags whose handles snap midway between store and bus stop. That's quite vexing. I nearly lost my swordfish steaks as my groceries fell out.

I'm the same with Dogs. They really annoy me and I'm genuinely scared of them. The way they bark and run at you then jump up at you. Horrible.

I am not scared of dogs and I do like them - but Bruvva is absolutely right, some dog owners are right arses. Keep them under control because realistically if one bounds up to me with teeth bared and growling, I'm going to give it a decent kicking. Which is great fun if its a yorkshire terrier - Jonny Wilkinson would be proud of me sometimes.

I've got to be honest, I've read and thought that that exact sentence many times... so it was with some skepticism that I sought out tomorrow's Mail headline, of the fact that it could be any worse than some of the stuff I've seen before, but Deadly you are correct - that is one vile, disgusting, opportunistic headline. How dare Paul Dacre use those poor kids as pawns to get their political way. The * *.

Edit: I know they feed off outrage giving them publicity, but it's a * low. Best way to protest is not to buy the Daily Mail and not to visit its website. Though I suspect very few do here, it's worth saying again.
