That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation! Here's an article written by a woman who actively didn't want a ring but ended up getting one just to keep other people quiet:

Why oh why can Nic never take it as a joke?!?

Tim...

Did you spend just a grand or just ten grand on a ring?

just over a grand, fine, nice, just over ten grand I stand by my original post.

Mainly because it's not an investment as a ten grand ring from a Jeweler is worth maybe a grand to a Pawn Shop, at very best.

Although a ten grand ring at Pawn Shop prices is a good investment for sure, but then I couldn't trust myself or my wife to walk round with something that precious on my hand all day.....

Anyway, what the * do I know, people can do what ever they want, what ever makes them happy, and good on them!

McFly are * ace, but Busted were better.

Air Hostess I like the way you dress, I poohed my Pants as we flew over France....... Class.

5 colours in her hair is a remarkable track too.

No, I don't think I would either. I have been engaged once before, and I used to literally have nightmares about losing the ring. I haven't had any about this one yet, thank God!

Pffft, at the very least Andy!

As I said, I saw it as a nest egg opportunity for 'er indoors. Beyond a savings account for my girl which has now got ~£700 in it, I have nothing else saving wise to leave to loved ones in event of the worst kinda news. I knew for a while I planned on doing it and saved up for a bit to be able to be bit more extravagant. Was important to me. Ring itself it's fairly understated and not OTT, nice 3 stones in a row jobby.

Good, that's good...

Making me smile today is my son sitting his Spag's for his SAT's, and given he's not the brightest (Dyslexic etc ) we were discussing grammar over our Evening Meal... love it... Also 13 year old daughter wanted to discuss Pythagoras theory and whether her boyfriend can come for a meal of the weekend......makes me smile....

I got 7 out of 10, but at least one of the correct ones I was guessing... the three I got wrong I had no idea.
