Indeed, that sucks. Being in hospital sucks generally, but on your birthday even worse. Hope she recovers soon!

Today is annoying me. I got into the office at 7:50 only to realise that I had left my "other" glasses, the ones I need to actually be able to work, at home. I use public transport and the service is a rural and infrequent one (hence me being in so early), so getting a bus home and being a bit late in wouldn't have worked, it would have taken me until nearly lunchtime. I called Mr Yudster, but he didn't answer so I assumed he was on his way to work already, and driving.

Luckily, a colleague with a company vehicle got in and I borrowed her car, went home and got them, and came back - was back in by 8:40. On the way back Jon called me a couple of times, I didn't answer because I was driving but thought it was probably just in response to seeing a missed call from me at about 8:00. When I got into the office he called again - to tell me that he had been involved in an accident on the A12, a car had swerved into a fuel tanker and then into him. Thankfully he is ok (if more than a little shaken up), the police were there and everything, plenty of witnesses saw what happened - but bloody hell. I mean bloody hell, what if?

On the up side, surely the week can only get better from here....

Did you have proper insurance when driving your colleagues car? I hope so.

Yes, to be honest I hadn't read Yudster's post and when I did, I only read up to the bit that was relevant to Deadly's post - having read it in full, I can only conclude that Deadly is trying to provoke a response as usual.

Sorry Yudster, as I PM'd you - glad he's OK, but bloody hell.

Yes. I didn't really read past the bit where she mentioned driving another car. I felt I had to ask about insurance.

What a depressing start to the week. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend Alex, hope she recovers soon, how shit must that be to be in hospital on your birthday. Blimey Yuds! Glad everyone is alright though.

Thanks - the car could be worse I think, its gone to the garage already and hopefully it won't take too long to fix, because we have a nasty little Renault Twingo as a replacement and its horrible. Still, its wheels, can't complain.

I think I might be the only person here who didn't think there was anything wrong with Deadly's enquiry about my insurance on the company car!

I am guilty of not reading the entire post. I made the post without taking into consideration the personal implications. It was tactless at worst.

It genuinely never crossed my mind! I didn't put the post on here to get sympathy (although thanks to everyone who has expressed it!) so it didn't occur to me that there was anything wrong with what you wrote. Still doesn't!

Certainly no intentional offence on my part. It's another case of certain members being offended for someone. I am public enemy number one and an easy target.
