This weekend's Netflix movie was Lars And The Real Girl, which I loved. Funny, moving, insightful. I had a tear in my eye at the end.

Last night my wife and I watched Rushmore (Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Olivia Williams). Had always wanted to see this and we just stumbled upon it on cable. Thought it was pretty good. Quirky funny movie.

Finally saw Die Hard 5 over weekend. S'ok, not as good as 1, 3 and 4 though...

Not seen 5, agree 1, 3 and 4 set a very high standard though... thought 4 would be shit, but it's not. 3 is still the best though.

My review:

A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)
I heard this was bad, but Live Free or Die Hard (2007) didn't get the best reviews either, and I really liked it.
Unfortunately, the reviews are correct. This is a horrible, horrible film. It's witless, charmless, brainless and apparently writerless. It's really not a Die Hard movie at all.
Even the stunts were annoying -- there are some fantastic stunts in this film, but they are so stupid, I was yelling insults at the screen while they were going on.

The best thing about it is (the theatrical cut at least) that it's very, very short. Just over 1.5 hours, excluding credits.

If you rent it, I advise burning it before watching. Also, Grenoble is in France, dipshit writers!

Gotta disagree I'm afraid, I loved 1,2 & 3 but I thought Die Hard 4 was the shits.
I know Die Hard films are a bit OTT, but 4 was just plain stupid. Crashing a car into a helicopter? Jumping off a bridge and landing on a plane? Do me a favour!!
Im refusing to watch 5 incase it's more of the same.

I turned number 5 off after about ten minutes. I had no idea what was going on.

charlalottie wrote:Die Hard 4.0 is rubbish and the worst of them all, 5 had some charm to it and was better than 4 but 1 is the best followed by 3. Nothing will beat Hans Gruber. Well except John but still.

You are SO wrong... the correct order (without having seen 5) is:

3
1
4
2

3 and 1 are brilliant, 4 is very good, 2 is OK.

Fathers Day afternoon was spent watching the First 1970's Superman, and Hairspray!

Geeky and Gay, all in one day. I absolutely loved both!

The original Die Hard is the best!

2 was good
3 was amazing
4 was silly, but good
not seen 5 yet...Mrs Duck will not allow it

I watched about 20 minutes of the first Die Hard film and switched off. Very boring.

Die Hard is another film series I've never seen. Back to the Future, Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Carribean also on that list.

They are both brilliant, but the story in 3 was better.

Nothing Keith Lemon has ever done is better than anything else that doesn't involve him ever. Except maybe The Only Way is Essex. Marginally.

Yes. Some characters in Bo Selecta I did find amusing, but not Keith Lemon.

That's alright then. I was a big fan of Bo' Selecta. Although it was very basic toilet humour, I thought the characters and how they corresponded to their real life counterparts (i.e. mainly didn't) were very well done.

Mel B, Craig David and Michael Jackson were all brilliant.

1) I agree that Die Hard With a Vengeance is the best Die Hard film
2) My three favourite films are (in no particular order) Shaun of the Dead, Some Like It Hot and The Stand (strictly speaking a TVM I guess, but it's pretty amazing)
3) I currently believe that Back To The Future III is the best, it's overtaken the first one. When I was in my teens, I thought the second was the best, then the first (I thought the second was best for eight years, then first for six)
4) I haven't seen Pulp Fiction all the way through, although it's my boyfriend's favourite film. I will watch it tomorrow. Last time we tried to watch it, Dan got upset and decided to listen to music instead. (it was his idea to watch Pulp Fiction, and his to listen to music. His mum had just died and I wanted him to have something comforting...yes...Pulp Fiction is a comforting thing for him...go figure, as they say...)

Watched Kieth Lemon the MOvie last night.

It was funny in places but I found it very rude for a 15! My Daughter wanted to watch it as "all her friends had" but man it was graphic and very rude. I think the Jizz thing although very funny, was a bit near the mark. Overall funny, but only in the sense that Good Tourrettes is funny

Filled the balance with an airing of Slum Dog Millionaire... Wicked!
