The last celebrity to tweet me was Sky News weather girl Nazaneen Ghaffar.

I thought you said 'celebrity'?

Talking of people searching themselves on Twitter, I was not at all surprised to see that waste of human skin Kay Burley does it when she responded to someone I follow:

Ah leave Naz alone she is a beautiful flower.

On the other hand Kay Burley is one of the only people on Earth I'd openly call a *.

I never watch Sky News, so I wouldn't know about the weather girl. She's not a celebrity though, I know that much.

Deadly is being his usual accurate self about Kay Burley though.

Britney is doing fine. More than fine: http://www.businessinsider.com/forbes-h ... 12-10?op=1

I have been on Twitter for 4 and a half years. I joined at about the same time Chris Moyles did. Britney Spears and Barack Obama both follow me on Twitter. It's not because they know me it's just because I was one of the first that started following them and they choose some people at random to follow back and I am one of them. I have had a lot of celebrity replies. I got one the other day from Rebecca Wilcox. Britney Spears is still in the tabloids. This is her at The Smurfs 2 premiere in California just yesterday.

I have looked up who Rebecca Wilcox is and I can confirm she isn't a celebrity either.

Arnold Schwarzenegger followed me once when he was busy being Governor of California... I have no idea why, I didn't follow him and I don't tweet about US politics, but he did. He doesn't any more though.

The real big names on Twitter (Obama, the Pope etc) don't actually Tweet. Their press office do it on their behalf so I'm not having that. When you are followed by a star of stage and screen like Gary Wilmot we'll talk.

A lot of celeb accounts had 'auto-follow' on, meaning if you follow them - they immediately follow you (this allowed them to be able to send you commercial DMs, etc.), hence why people like Obama 'follow' 10,000+ people. An unsustainable number of followers if you actually use your twitter feed.

This has now been disallowed by Twitter.

I've had a couple of 'conversations' on twitter with relative celebs; Nina Bracewell-Smith, Alan Davies, John Amaechi (in which he blocked me because I told him off), Alexis Gauthier (in which we ended up booking a private dining room for 8.) and a few others over the years. I know Aled follows a few forum regulars too.

To be honest, the people I'm happiest about following me are 'twitter famous' and are journalists or commentators in their fields.

Yeah, I've had replies from Hadley Freeman and E Jean Carroll and I was really happy about those cos even though they're not 'famous', they're respected journalists in fields I'm interested in.

On my old Twitter account, I had replies from luminaries such as Adam Buxton (of Adam and Joe fame), Emma Kennedy (writer, actress and Celebrity Masterchef winner), Geoff Lloyd (DJ on Absolute Radio) and Chesney Hawkes (legend).

The only famous follower I had was Frank Sidebottom.

A few professional squash players follow me but they aren't famous. The only celebrity follower I have is Aled! I had an argument about Richard Dawkins with Tim Minchin once but neither of them follow me or ever did.

Did they ask what you were expecting?

Not in the application process. They asked me in the interview what I was getting in my previous job and then told me what the starting rate was in the job they were offering. The thing is I'm quite old now and I guess they are looking at 18-21 year olds who can live off that kind of wage. I was prepared to accept a much lower wage than I got in my previous job due to me going into an industry that I have no experience in but I wouldn't get out of bed for 12k a year.

It's hard to live on that in the current climate. I earn just under 14 and I struggle.

Wow, that is not very much.

"12k starting with commission would be okay I suppose, but £14k for someone who appears very intelligent and hardworking is not allot Nic, I suppose you must enjoy it / don't want to do anything else?

Anyway none of my business, but agreed it's not allot, and a fraction of what you could get managing a Lidl's!
