I agree with Bruvva and would like to add the increasing misuse by TV sports commentators (and many others) of the non-word "laxadaisical" when they actually mean "lackadaisical".

Also don't keep going to see her band under the guise of 'supporting your friends', seeing her there with her new partner and making yourself thoroughly miserable for a year. It seems unlikely she's in a band, but that's my best advice from my last breakup

Ben, this isn't meant to make you feel better now, but if you can, hold on to the idea that one day, maybe not that far off, you will find yourself looking back on now and thinking "wow, that was a really shit time" - which will mean it will be over, and you will be in a good place again. It WILL happen, I guarantee it. Like I said, that doesn't make now any less painful, but it does help you remember that it won't last.

Much as I love you fella, don't go believing that in your own head. Even if the only thing you did wrong was not be the person she wanted, you still did wrong in some way.

All this REALLY means is she, clearly, wasn't the one for you. However much you may have liked/loved her, if she doesn't feel the same, she simply isn't 'the one' for you.

Trust me, there will be someone out there who is as equally (to your mind) suitable but who also loves the ass off you.

Nothing anyone can say will lessen the pain you are feeling right now, but it will dwindle in time and you will find more love elsewhere.

Well depending on your violence level you should have him dealt with. In saying that she could have been really deceptive and denied all knowledge of you to him.

This was because I said that all races (including caucasians) are susceptible to racial prejudice.

I have experienced racial discrimination in this country, although I wouldn't call it racism. Many years ago, between giving up my job and home in a lovely part of London and moving back to Colchester, I moved for a few months to a much less lovely part of London in the borough of Tower Hamlets. I was pregnant and ill at the time, and I needed to sign on (which then you just had to turn up to arrange, no phone calls or appointments), so I walked down what was then the DSS, only to be handed a card saying that there were no English speaking staff on duty and that I would have to make an appointment for the following month. As the law then said that I could turn up and arrange my benefits whenever I was able, and none of the Bangladeshi residents of the area (who were mostly lovely people, it wasn't their fault) had to do so, this was direct discrimination on grounds of race.

I'm not sure how you can "fundamentally disagree" with Chrysostom's position here Topher, it simply IS. I agree its not so obvious and in this country at least far less prevalent to come across prejudice against caucasians, but to pretend it doesn't happen just because its never happened to you is daft.

We have had a spat of racism before over a similar remark I made about the facts as I saw them concerning Muslims that I knew, and feedback from Serving Military concerning the behaviors of Muslims Abroad. They were not positive reflections.

They were factual observations, and I am not racist. But they are facts, we are all discriminated against day in and day out, be it positively or negatively. Unfortunately bringing it up can often lead to you being accused of what it is you were trying to stop.

These accusations do nothing to help, and should be defended against.

I'm no stranger to racism against Caucasians... It happens. Racism as a whole though is soooo 90's. We're all people, some are twats, some aren't, skin colour has nowt to do with it. As proved by the Scots!
