My HTC One X+ is better.

Mr Red has an iPhone 5 and I have an HTC One S and it really doesn't seem like there's much difference when in day to day use. I know more apps are available on iPhone than android but so far I've never had any issues getting apps I want. The only thing with the iPhone is the lack of Flash and the tediousness of iTunes.

S'all pish. iPhones and HTC's suck a$$ big time. Samsung S3/S4 are bestestest.

Incorrect. S3/S4 are better than the iPhone and are good phones, but HTC Sense is far superior to Touchwiz.

Agreed. I have a Galaxy S2 and to be honest, I love it. My contract's decent because I got an older model, but even that model is a revelation compared to my old Blackberry. The one massive advantage of the Blackberry was its keyboard as I * hate typing on a touchscreen, but I'm willing to forego that because it's the only feature of the BB that I preferred.

I do have an iPhone too, for work. I barely touch the thing, I don't think I have an Apple ID to get apps but that doesn't bother me. Its email functions and synchronisation to our system is fantastic, but I'd still prefer a Galaxy S2 for personal use. Granted, its email is pish but I don't need that for non-work stuff. Plus, the iPhone's bloody heavy.

The Galaxy's downside is how slippy it is. It's like a bar of soap, hence my screen is * after 2 heavy landings. I have a case on it normally but ironically it's too grippy to get in my jeans pocket so I sometimes take it out its cover. Never again though.

I do have that iMessage thing, but as it's a work phone I don't pay attention to what I'd be spending. I barely use the thing, so it'd hardly run up a bill. I can see how that'd be handy for personal use, but WhatsApp also exists which is free messaging across all platforms and it's free to download on Android.

I'm not going to ever let you go. What we had was special and I want you to do that thing to me with the frying pan and coke bottle again.

That sentence tells me so much!

Yeah, Mr Red and I use Whatsapp - I think I get 3000 texts a month but I only ever use them to text my mum and bro really. I originally started using Whatsapp cos my signal was terrible in my old flat due to the high buildings surrounding us, so texts would take a dog's age to deliver, whereas Whatsapp was on wifi so instant. That isn't the case in my new place but I just stuck with it out of habit. The only disadvantage is that if someone you've had in your phone contacts is also on Whatsapp, it seems to kind of cling to the number and when you want to delete them from your contacts you can't, even if you never actually used Whatsapp to communicate with them.

Making me laugh today: Richard Pryor (on iPlayer) gig from '79 (year I was born). Quality comedian. See where Eddie Murphy / Chris Rock got inspiration for their S/U act.

Just bought some tix for Sarah Millican's warm-up show for her next tour in our 150 seater here. Never seen her before, so looking forward to that.

Ooh, lucky you! Love Sarah, she is very funny. Been trying to get tickets to see her myself somewhere near here, but the dates always clash. Grrr. Hope you enjoy it!

Really? Couldn't disagree more. I think we're in a great age for female comedians, lots of 'em with a great act.
