Dire wasn't it? But however lacklustre United were, Chelsea were a hell of a lot worse.

Heh, can you IMAGINE the chelsea fan's reactions if Benitez had served that up last night? Hypocritical know nowts that they are.

Moyes went into defensive mode for that entire game, more so late on. Ferguson would have chased it, Moyes didn't have the balls for it.

Mourinho left Chelsea the first time round after falling out with Abramovic over the attractiveness of football being played, remember. Hey ho.

Milk/Littlewoods/Rumbelows/Coca Cola/Worthington/Carling/Capital One (delete depending on how old you are) Cup tonight (and Europe if you're one of those fancy dan clubs), always had a soft spot for that competition.

My hate for Liverpool FC and their woe is me attitude is well documented but it's great to see them taking the League Cup seriously.

Never understand why the bigger teams don't start with the more established players and then bring the kids on when it's won rather than start with a bunch of 16 year olds. Keeps any winning streak going and can help stop bad runs.

Still worry about Liverpool's defence though.

Ooh, down to 10 men now thanks to Toure's leg falling off. This means a centre half pairing of Agger and......Wisdom(?) on Sunday. Oh joy.

Haha, remember Rumbelows! Not in the context of that cup but there's a name from the past.

*puts on conspiracy hat after the Rumbelows Cup Draw*

Oh really, Suarez's first game back after suspension is against that bunch of * is it? What a coincidence.

Obviously this is only relevant if he isn't flogged to Madrid next week.

Heh, ex Arsenal player (now QPR but, frankly, that's not as funny) in propositioning a pr0n star on instagram FURORE.

So Arsenal sign a player and their fans aren't happy about it?? Make up your minds! Although Flamini isn't a world class player he can certainly do a job at the top level.

Some fans aren't happy about it. If you look hard enough you'll find fans of any clubs moaning.

I'm very happy about his return, as are most of my AFC supporting friends. Doesn't mask our need for a very good first choice midfielder, a left winger and a striker. Not to mention a back up defender and a keeper.

Eto'o is a great signing as is Flamini. Football fans should be a bit more grateful for what they have, especially those at the top level. There are some teams who have a transfer embargo and can't sign anyone due to their financial situation.

There's just a surplus of football fans who desperately want to prove that they know more about football than the professionals. If they haven't seen a player play, or heard that he's good from someone else then he's immediately 'rubbish'.

I think you're wrong about being 'grateful' though. Arsenal fans have been subject to price hikes on a promise that it will help us compete at a top level. None of that money has been spent yet, and our CEO came out and said:

"This year we are beginning to see something we have been planning for some time, which is the escalation in our financial firepower,’ said Gazidis.

‘I’m talking about an extra £70million of additional, high-margin revenue which we will be able to use.

‘We have a certain amount which we’ve held in reserve and we also have new revenue streams coming on board. All of these things mean we can do some things which would excite you.

‘We can think about all kinds of things."

There may well be clubs in a worse situation than us, but within the context of discontent with Arsenal's transfer dealings I don't really see the link.

When your team is struggling to fill a bench with first team players at the top level - WITH the money to get the players that they need, questions need to be asked of the manager, the board and the owner. Our squad as it is will not be able to perform well on 4 fronts, we'll barely make it through the December fixture congestion.
