Arsenal will sign at least 4 excellent players before deadline day I think. If that is enough or not you'll be a better judge than I am. I do find it very weird that Spurs are having a bid of just £9million accepted for the young Ajax player Christian Eriksen yet Arsenal are oblivious to the fact he could be available. If Spurs can get him for that price it's an utter bargain. If I was an Arsenal fan it would really bother me that lesser teams or teams on a par with Arsenal are signing good young players whilst Arsenal seemingly don't know the players even exist.

*looks at Champions League draw*

Celtic out, Arsenal tricky but doable (in terms of qualifying from it at least) as is City's group...United...hmmmm, that's not easy, Leverkusen and Sociedad away might be problematic - I know nothing about Donetsk though, apart from the fact that it's a long way away. Chelsea should stroll theirs.

Chelsea fans on twitter annoy me. They are essentially playing worse football under Mourinho than they ever did under the previous managers yet they are blinded to that fact because Mourinho is the manager. They are so smug too.

Hang on, people are saying that Ramires *shouldn't* have been sent off?

*facepalm*

Although speaking of oddballery, Real Madrid erected a STAGE to put Bale on when they sign him..A STAGE.

What's wrong with the player just sheepishly holding his new club's scarf above his head in the pre-signing publicity?

In other news, Liverpool have signed one of those defender things. SIXTH PLACE IS BACK ON BABY.

When you're paying an insane fee for a player I'd imagine they'd want to make the most of it! That fee is inflated beyond belief, and it's not for footballing reasons!

I quite like the rumour flying about that Ronaldo threw a strop as he wanted to remain the most expensive player at Real so the transfer fee isn't quite as high as it could have been. Probably untrue but funny.

Real Madrid having all this money irks me. They've been bailed out by the local government at least once by "selling" the training ground to them for MASSES and then renting it back for peanuts.

With so many players of good squad/first team quality going to Spurs and with Sakho linked with Liverpool, I'm really convinced that Arsenal's squad isn't of the quality to make top 4, and potentially top 6. And that we don't have the necessary ambition to financially invest the money needed to maintain Champion's league football. It's likely that not signing a £40m player will make up for the £40m hit we will take by not getting CL next year, and I don't think that's a choice from the manager.

For me, one of the worst things about this is that this will likely be Arsene's last season at the club - and his legacy will be tainted by barren run of 9 years without a trophy. His excellent financial work, and consistency will count for nothing - but I hope he gets away from domestic football. For a manager like him, club football has gone to hell.

Well I do wonder how quickly all those new spurs signings will gel in all honesty, might take them a good few games to get up and running, if indeed they do.

As for Arsenal, after the whole Suarez thing fell apart, I'm surprised they didn't get some other players in, if only to cover the squad in case of injuries. They're in the Champions League so if they do well in that, it makes the season long and there's a danger that things could fall apart towards the end of the season should some key players find themselves out injured.

I wouldn't write them off for 4th just yet, they're still good but at the moment I'd say Spurs are probably favourites for that last champions league spot (and who knows, maybe higher, none of Man U, City or Chelsea have looked untouchable yet albeit only 2 games into the season). Just checked the odds actually, bookies seem to have you set for 4th although it's close.

*edit* Yeah, Sakho does look Liverpool bound according to French Football Weekly who are vaguely reputable. Also, some other defender lad, Tiago Llori. We'll undoubtedly see Spurs swoop in and nab them now they've unlocked the Premier League "infinite money" cheat.

Hurrah! Also "heh" to Gollum's "we should have had a penalty" comment. Twat should've been booked for diving.

Also, while I'm in "unattractive gloating" mode

Liverpool were the far better team. We looked like we had no midfield most of the match

I'm assuming Kagawa's injured as he's exactly what Utd need - baffling that he's not picked otherwise as Cleverley's, well, shit.

MOAR importantly, Hodgson not being allowed into the director's box at Anfield. THAT'S what you get for helping run the club into the ground you face rubbing, owl faced tart!

It's quite hilarious. Thinking about his rage at half makes me smile.

Have seen Reading play live on Saturday we are about 4 players short of a promotion challenge. Will we sign 4 players? No.

So Dalglish is banned from the ground, right?

Kenny is sat at home playing Premier Manager 95 as Liverpool giving half time instructions to the red dot on the screen that represents John Barnes.

Hope he's got a wide screen monitor for Barnes at that point.

And no Chrys, Hodgson really * things up before Dalglish came along and exacerbated the situation by, y'know, winning a trophy (remember doing that?). Signing Konchesky was proof enough of Hodgson's incompetence.

Roy Bodgson is good at getting the best out of bad/average players see Finland, Switzerland, Fulham, West Brom. I honestly don't think he is able to cope with top level players who have egos and need a firm man manager. England have been average under his management but I'll pass judgement on them fully after the World Cup next year. If we either don't qualify for the World Cup or don't get into the Quarter final stage I'll want him gone. There are plenty of top level managers out there to replace him.

Bring back Sven.

He's shit, looks like an owl and rubs his face a lot.

IF England qualify for the world cup it will be in spite of him, not because of him, the useless, face rubbing, owl faced dinosaur.
