I must admit it has been many years since International football has interested me. It used to be that was where you saw the best quality football played, but now that's the Champions League. Most of the International sides would be thumped by most of the top teams in the CL.

Remember when England had players who gave a shit? Butcher, Ince, Adams, Pearce and Gazza would make you feel proud to be an England fan. I can't say that about any of the current squad besides Gerrard but even he doesn't play like he does for Liverpool. All England fans want is 100% effort and a willingness to put it all on the line when England play but sadly I don't think the current players are capable of that. I fear we may get embarrassed next summer should we qualify and then we'll hear the same old excuses we hear every time. "We tried hard" "we were unlucky" and "we had a young squad" will all be on display next summer as we are held to a draw by Japan.
If the FA want to have a successful international side then just copy the Spanish model or the German one. Look at what these countries did and just copy it exactly because it worked for them. The FA are so stuck up and narrow minded they probably think it is beneath them to replicate what other nations have done but it's not.

I find it hard to follow the National team outside of tournaments, as a majority of the players just seem so unlikable or not good enough.

Harsh, I know Wilshere generally stank the place out last night but that's a bit over the top.

Tell you what, Torres and Et'o up front would have been awesome for any team 6 years ago. Now, not so much.

I won't even bother banging on about the synchronised diving squad at Old Trafford, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Kidderminster Harriers won again, so yay.

That may well be a theme for him, he gets subbed rather a lot. Looked good in the first half yesterday though.

Y'know, not that I think either of them WILL win the league but Man U at 7/2 and Arsenal at 15/2 are worth an e/w bet. You'll get 1/3 odds for a top 2 place in a lot of bookies, that's generous. Works out at 3/1 for Utd and 6/1 Arsenal.

As an aside, Charlton v Millwall today. I'm staying indoors.

He's clearly more a Sexton than a Ferguson, isn't he?

Still, you've noone much to play in the league until Arsenal in 5 games time so I imagine you'll put some kind of run together.

I bloody hope so. I'm not by any stretch jumping on the sack him bandwagon as Fergie didn't perform miracles over night and we have had a tough start to the season... But wow, its a big change

I don't think Fergie would allow his sacking. The biggest question mark in my opinion is the ability of Moyes to draw top players to the club - which thus far has been minimal.

If Utd aren't in a strong league position in January - it's doubtful you'll attract the players you need to get you out of a slump. Having said that we're a few games in and you've played 3 of your toughest league fixtures!

Yup, I'm not the only one who remembers this, I'm sure

Moyes's banging on about how unfair the start of the season's been has made me laugh, the paranoid dick, he's previous with that kind of outburst at Everton as well.

That said, you'll beat us tomorrow night and all will be well again. Anyone know the odds on Suarez getting himself sent off after offering the entire Stretford End out?

Moyes is looking more like a frightened weasel every day. Probably not without reason. I agree with whoever it was said that his biggest problem is that Utd have become a far less attractive destination for top players since he took over. Not really sure how he overcomes that.

Suarez will do a Mr Nice Guy routine until about Christmas and then probably stab somebody. Every opposition defence will be winding him up verbally and physically and he hasn't got the mentality to cope with it so its just a matter of time before he loses it.

Nah, he'll be on his best behaviour as it's a world cup year so I reckon he'll hold out until at least February (assuming U R GAY qualify, I've no idea). Best scenario for Liverpool, he doesn't go mental until after the world cup then sell him.

Napoli tonight will be a real test. Benitez' team are going extremely well, and have such a good starting XI. I think they'll come with a counter attacking game - one that could undo poor Per.

Tell you what, it's a great performance from Arsenal so far but that's not what's prompting this post...Hamsik's hair is.

What. The. *. Is all that about? Who told him that doesn't make him look like a twat?

They deserve to lose 10-0 because of that alone.
