I just started Feb 2006. I load up about 2 months of shows on my Generic Fruit-Based MP3 players at a time. TCMS has replaced most of my other podcast listening.

Or "Apple-based MP3 Player" as Chris often said.

And yeah, I only listen to TCMS, and occasionally the TMP podcast. I'm already up to Christmas 2005 now.

Yep, I'm the same. Listening to the old shows has pretty much replaced my podcast listening, I'm subscribed to loads that I never listen to anymore. All I listen to now is The Xfm Breakfast Show Podcast, and I tend to listen to at least 3 CM shows a day.

I'm only managing 1 show a day as I'm still listening to a couple of other podcasts and/or programs. There's a sci-fi movies/tv shows podcast that I listen to, the Kermode/Mayo movie review podcast as well as Mayo's drive time programs. And I've listened to the 1st two Sara Cox 80's shows. I think her new show has a lot of potential.

I'm currently listening to the 15th December 2004 now and Davina McCall is on the show, she was always one of the best guests on the show in my opinion.

I'm only on the first week of March 2004, having not listened for ages.

I think someone has already said this, but it was a bit eerie hearing them interview the late Jade Goody in the Back to Reality house.

Yea - they did go on and on about that, but it got kind of funny as time went on because they all started to drop out of the detox with 3 exceptions. Don't want to spoil it for you so I won't name the ones who stuck it out till the end.

I just finished the week of March 21-25 2005 and it had some pretty good shows IMO. He interviewed Billie Piper right before the start of the Dr. Who re-boot and I thought it was very good. Living in the US, I never realized just how big a deal the re-boot was until listening to the buildup on the show. I certainly remembered the time period, but here it was a curiosity more than anything else. I've been thinking of going on Netflix and watching that series of episodes. I can definitely say that Rose is my favorite Dr. Who companion. No contest.

Keep the coconut but it was 7th December 2004.

I'm up to 28/09/05. Been slow in listening to the old shows for a few months in mid-2005 as the show went into a bit of a lull. Got back into it now though and the past couple of weeks have been absolutely superb. Moyles was up for the shows, telling good stories and the repartee with Dave and Dom was brilliant. The whole team dynamic at this point was almost perfect.

Cheers! I'm on the 24th January 2005 now and most of the team have slumped at it. I really can't wait till it's over!

There's more feckin' detox in January 2006, but it's less annoying in that year. The week commencing 20th Feb 2006 is bonkers! Ofcom troubles on Monday... and Tuesday, a great interview with Kanye West before he went too mental and then a totes amazeballs birthday show on the Wednesday! And I still have 2 more days to go for the week.

Is that when Chris swore at a listener on the phone?

Yes. On the version of the show in our archive, it's cut out, but it's on YouTube, and I'm guessing in the Sound Archive here too.
Then the following day, they accidentally played an uncensored track by mistake in Tedious Link. Transcript: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=22982&start=450#p435750

A * and shit in two days. Auntie Beeb must have exploded.

On the same day as the shit, there was a great interview with Kaaaanye West. He was exhausted, but it was very entertaining.

People who edited the shows in the archive: why was that particular bit cut out from the show? Seems odd, because I've heard quite a lot of swears in the shows so far e.g The Elton John interview from 2004.

Probably because it was taken from the iPlayer version rather than the live one, where the BBC had already cut it out.

not having the time or patience to learn how to download the shows into my phone I only dip in and out of the old ones when I can. So obviously I'm not as up to date (if that makes sense!) as most of you, but I did listen to the "Carrie at Wimbledon" episode and I'm amazed at how much I missed her and Rachel.

I always thought they were quite throw away, and I certainly didn't miss them when the left the show. But they were actually pretty funny in their own ways and made the show a lot better.
Towards the end of its run, the show kind if became the "Dom, Dave & Chris" show which was still brilliant, but throw in the 2 girls and it just seemed to Gel better.

I never really thought Tina fit it, she always seemed like an outsider. And Aled always seemed to be trying too hard to fit in in the last few years of the show.

I generally liked Tina during the last couple of years of the show, but I think she had the deck stacked against her a bit when she came onto the show. Carrie had been with the team for so long and they all worked together well and knew each other's routines and quirks, which obviously Tina didn't know. I also wonder if she would have fit in better if she had been closer in age to the rest of the team. She was early 20's vs mid to late 30's for the other team members. I can't help but think that that could have been a factor.

Yeah it's hard to argue with that. I wonder if she was picked by Chris and the team or weather she was chosen for them.

I mean I know the on air schtick was that she was chosen by the team, but you know how these things can work.
