Really? The first ten minutes of his show today sounded like someone was shoving a screwdriver into my ears. I've been trying to work out for months now how to change the default station for my alarm, but no matter ho often I put it on Radio 2 every morning when it switches on its still Radio 1.......

I heard a bit of his show the other day and I thought it was as atrocious as it always has been. I still maintain that Grimmy is a decent talent, but he is poor on that show. And don't even get me started on Matt Fincham.

Matt that bad eh? From the very brief stint I listened to it (first 2 weeks or so), I did find him a bit on the annoying side so I assumed it has only got worse from then.

I don't even listen to the radio anymore because all of the shows I listened to from the past few years are gone and only listen to archive shows I never heard in the first place. But that will be coming to an end soon since I am at February 2008 and I started listening from July 2009.

Whether we like it or not, we have to accept the fact that Chris has moved on with his life and that his radio career in the past now. I don't know what his old shows he did on UK play and that were like back in the day but I thought Quiz Night was decent at best except when he kept bringing back David "I can't be bothered to play this game properly!" Wailliams.

I don't know if other people would think Fincham is that bad, but he just grates on me. He didn't bother me on the Moyles show but he is out-and-out annoying now.

I agree about Moyles. He has moved on with his life. I honestly don't think he could recapture his peak years on Radio 1 even if he wanted to ... that man has gone. Anyone who listens to old shows and compares and contrasts the earlier days to the Moyles that finished the show will know that.

We all change as we get older and Moyles has changed a hell of a lot, certainly as far as the part that made him so good on the radio is concerned. I wouldn't rule out a return for him in the future though, but he will need to have moved on from the phase he is currently in for me to be interested in it.

I like the show on the whole. I have gone completely full circle on it. It doesn't get anywhere near to the level of the Moyles show but it is better than anything else currently out there for me.

DISLOYALTY!

Nah, I'm joking. Call or Delete makes me cringe cos I hate pranks and practical jokes of any description, but I usually miss that as Mr Red and I are walking to Starbucks and getting our coffee during that time. Generally I like the show, yes it isn't Moyles and never will be, but I doubt anything ever could. I like Showquizness, Happy Hardcore, the Nickstape, and the general feel of the show now the bosses have allowed him to bring the rest of the team in a bit more. Even Tina was in on the chat about the Valentine's messages yesterday, which was nice.

My morning & afternoon commutes are all underground - and can't listen at work, so couldn't listen to the radio if I wanted to.

Podcasts are my main source of radio intake, and I'll be damned if I go out of my way to hear that.

Happy Hardcore is a part of Dev's Early Breakfst though...?

I haven't heard Nicsktape as I'm always at work well before that but I have heard nothing but good things about it. All I know about R1 Breakfast right now is that Nick Grimshaw has no idea how to open a show and Matt Fincham can't chat without rehearsing it first. If it improves after the first 45 minutes I'm very happy for Nick's listeners.

Oh I dunno, I've never heard Dev's show. Maybe Nick's show stole/borrowed it from him.

Nickstape is absolutely excellent, and proves that Grimshaw knows his music in a non-pretentious way - and likes to have fun. However I just can't fathom listening to the show on anything more than a fleeting basis, as the content of the chat just doesn't appeal in the slightest.

Who's that, Davina?

I think it was Friday morning last week, the 06:30 news into NG's show... Tina said '*'..! Was meant to be county, but she got all tongue tied.

I do now (that it hurts a little less) listen to a brief period of Grimshaw on the way to work. S'ok, is as generous as I can be. Not offensive, but certainly nothing to get excited about, or even organise your life around (as I used to for TCMS).

I was wondering if he was going to join Davina at some point for the running part of her challenge. Still think his head looks too big relative to the rest of his body.

I agree - I'm sure that's the reason. It just looks a bit weird to me.

No I agree, he's acquired a bit of a lollipop man look.

Never heard that description before but it's on the mark.
