Yay, rape jokes. My favourite.

If I'm honest Nic, I was fully expecting that reply from you...

Disclaimer: No offence intended to anyone, but I guess you knew that anyway.

Quiet at work this morning and fell into the "search forum" abyss.

Got reading through some of my old a-moron posts.

* me I was funny.

And quite rude.

Thanks Toph. I think many men don't understand it just cos they're not in that position of vulnerability that women are in when it comes to sexual violence. And yes, I know men can be victims of that too but ultimately the patriarchy is on their side.

I think on the day I didn't feel up to arguing the point cos even though my experience of sexual assault didnt involve chloroform or a van, I still felt a little bit triggered by it. I have those days. Thankfully today isn't one of them.

I blocked him ages ago after he kept being periodically retweeted into my timeline. Hopefully he will be put in prison soon.

But, I think you took the said comments a little out of context. On their own, very dark and cause for concern. In the context I used them...?

this forum is now really only used by the Moyles loyal, most of whom have met each other. Hence why I'd feel comfortable to make the 'jokes' I did given my known audience on here now.

So, whilst I take on board your comments, the internet opens up such a wide audience that ANYTHING you post could offend someone, somewhere.

So does that mean you should just say whatever you like and it's the responsibility of readers to moderate their own reactions? Or is it your responsibility to think about what you say and try to avoid offending people? I know you didn't mean those things, I know they were 'jokes'...but that doesn't make it okay. When women have to regularly deal with harassment, the 'it's just a joke' reasoning doesn't really make things better. It's just yet another indication that violence against women is taken so lightly that it's seen as fine to joke about.

Ah c'mon now - we've been doing this for long enough to know:

Nic didn't like the content of the joke
DTJ won't apologise for his joke
DTJ didn't mean to offend, but is sorry that it did
Nic doesn't want an apology, but wants to make clear she has a strong viewpoint on the issue
DTJ understands, but disagrees that his use of the joke was malicious
Everyone stops posting for a few hours/days

Let's skip it and hug awkwardly, with nobody particularly pleased.

Aye... Mod powers V's freedom of speech. I whole heartedly agree with ALL points Nic has raised. And mine...

Mr Red's ex posted on my former flatmate's Facebook status about the death of Harold Ramis saying that it was a hoax. This was yesterday evening, after it had appeared on the BBC site and various people including his agent and Bill Murray had issued statements. It's petty, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her make herself look stupid.

I went to look for a misogynistic themed avatar to replace the that big dopey looking * nugget I had up previously.

In the 1st line of images with a size of 100 x 100 is none other than that * one right there ------------>

I SWEAR TO GOD, BUDDHA, MOSES OR WHOMEVER IT IS YOU SWEAR AT.

I thought we were on about Ben... But, I can't dispute your point. It'd be unfair to be this good looking AND well hung.
