Last Wednesday I was in Bedford for the Charlie Wells Brewery Tour with my local. My first ever brewery tour, it was actually quite a laugh.
Hop off the bus, get told a load of old bollocks about how the brewery was started, then up to the bar for a free drink and watch some video about how beer is made (where is the yawn smiley?)
Then off round the brewery for a quick look at some pipes (the best part of this was walking past some geezers office with pictures of Melinda Messenger on the wall.)
Finally, up to the bar again for trying out some free beers and lagers and a curry.
I probably shouldn't have gone, because I wasn't feeling that well before, but for 7 quid, it would have been rude to say no.
Verdict: Kirin is very nice; Crest (on draught) is a bit weak and they didn't have the 10% canned version (shame ); not being a bitter drinker I only tried the Banana Bread Beer, which does in fact taste of bananas (well, the before taste and after taste does, in between it just tastes of bitter). I can't remember what else I tried but all in all a good cheap excuse for a night out, but you have to be careful about mixing too many different types of beers.

You are a disgrace and I'm looking forward to when someone you respect dies so I can rub your liberal face in it.
