......losing it..plain and simply radio 1 and BBC radio has lost the plot...now quite simply it seems to be trying to please people...the decison to introduce "Specialist" radio stations.
Now im all in favour of new stations however, the way bbc and radio 1 have mastermineded their plans for these new stations, by putting them on digital broadcasting, surely this is a MASSIVE amount of money...license players money at that, to be spent on some station of which will only be heard by a certain few privillaged people..wouldnt it have made better sense to broadcast them on normal frequencys instead of making them "digitial" only.
The decison also to have an "urban" station puzzles me...quite a lot of the stations shows and playlist fetaure a lot of urban/hip-hop/garage etc..etc... except there are still a lot of shows that will carry on radio 1 ..which puzzles me as to weather this is such a valuable option
Overall bbcs radio station cater for peoples taste
but if i had my way these are what type of stations i would have (the 5 havent really changed):
BBC Radio 1 (pop/rock/dance)
BBC Radio 2 (vintage 60s/mid age type)
BBC Radio 3 (classical)
BBC Radio 4 (documentarys/news/features)
BBC Radio 5 (Rolling news)
BBC Radio 5 sport (sport..sport and more sport)
BBC Radio 6 (Dance music specialist)
BBC Radio 7 rock ( Rock/indie/emo/hardcore/punk/metal/nu-metal)
BBC Radio Urban (garage/hip-hop-/soul/funk/rnb)
BBC Radio Noise (electronic/hardcore/techno/betas/grooves/chill out....)
