It's more common in modern life and TV is just beginning to represent this. Years ago it was always white people in films having main parts and now thats all changed so it's just like different levels of sexuality is becoming more except and it is now comming across in TV now.

I don't think there are too many gays on tv, you just have to cover all groups of people from ethnic background, sexuality, disabilities and so on. In a way, television has to become more controversial in 'breaking issues'..they know the programmes get attention if a lesbian kiss is on, or rape..Just something that's not been done before.

It's just like Sarah Lou getting pregnant, that first lesbian kiss in Brookie, and the gay kiss in Holby, I guess.
