There's you answer... Whoever voted for me is wrong, obviously I'm too careful... Actually I have come close and ironically enough it was coppers who stopped me getting a record.

It's funny how everybody automatically knows I've not got a criminal record without me having to say anything...

sidla, you seem too nice to have a criminal record. i bet you help old ladies cross the street. (then they beat you with their purses for being too patronizing).

Kendra you may be able to help with this why does the american language use the letter Z or Zee in places we use the far superior S? Ie Patronizing not patronising or organization not organisation.

i don't know. i thought it was because americans tried to do a more phonetic spelling. you say a voiced [s] or a [z]. but i just checked the bible of the english language (ie. the OED), and it has patronize. same for orginization.

What did you do (or nearly did?) and how did they stop you?

Long story, here goes...

I was on the rebound off this girl, and went on Yahoo chat about two years ago. I met this girl 16 year old (I was only 17) from Sutton Coldfield and we started chatting, exchanged phone numbers. Then mum said "I'm taking your brother and sister to Euro Disney, wanna come?" Iwas like "no" and then straight on the blower to Collette to invite her over.

Went to New Street to collect her and bring her back home, put a film on and the phone rings. I unplugged it. A while later there's a knock at the door. It's two cozzers.

COPPER: "Are you Chris Welch?"
ME: "Yes."
COPPER: "Can we come in?"
ME: "Yeah, why?"
[copper walks in]
COPPER [to Collette]: "Are you Collette Parke?"
COLLETTE: Yes
COPPER [to me] "How old are you?"
ME: "17"
COPPER [to Collette]: "And you're 14..." (Funny how I know thescript off by heart.)

Shit. Next thing I know I turn my phone off and have got two messages; one from her school (I was under the impression she had just finished her exams and wasn't there any more) and one from a West Mids copper.

Cue me getting into work the next day and getting the biggest bollocking from my boss' boss since I'd (stupidly) sent her emails from my work email account, so the filth had gone into her email account, seen mailto:[email protected], gone to http://www.globix.com and got the number off there, then rung Holly on reception who put them through to my boss.

And she swore blind she was 16 till she got out the door, she had her internet access taken off the PC and was grounded for at least a year no word of a lie.

Phew, hope that hasn't bored anyone to tears, I was telling that story today actually.

Erm, well I was thinking just watch a film and then kick her out...

Topher wrote:Actually I have come close and ironically enough it was coppers who stopped me getting a record.

There's your answer. Thank god those two coppers came at that time. Although they were verry off with me, they even had a go at me about the alcohol there, which they couldn't touch me on 'cos it's a private party and all that. Arseholes.

To be fair though, I bet they get calls like that all the time, and not all the blokes would be as innocent as you, natural to be wary I guess.

I don't know whether its a compliment or the complete opposite that no one thinks I could have a record. The fact that I never even had a school detention is not the point.

Probably a compliment, because judging off here, probably means you are too nice to be a criminal. That's the way I see it.

Wow..never had a detention. I have had ones for swearing in class, talking too much. We used to get essays in Maths classes and I got one on first aid. Someone who farted got one on toxic gases. I dunno, not been that bad for a while, lol.

Thats better than our maths detentions - we had to put a dot in every single square on a sheet of graph paper. They could tell if we tried to cheat.

we had to colour each one in different colours

Did that too Minnie. And the really little squares. But we sat and laughed and drew lines through the boxes saying it made a mark in each one. I did nice designs, I was severely bored.

Now of course, I am angelic. It's great convincing myself at least.

Headmasters detentions weren't bad. You didn't have to do any work jus got to talk to the headmaster for an hour. If you got normal detentions they had you doing crap loads of work.

My French teacher was a bitch in year 10. She hated me, I was told to move on my own once at the very start of the lesson before I had a chance to do anything. Detention when I refused.

Main detentions were for trainers though, 'cos I had a rpoblem with shoes almost as much as I had a problem with authority.
