Radio 1 is playing the "disaster" music.

BBC Radio 2 - 6 are playing special news broadcasts.

not quite mellow as di- but better than post di
the best music ever heard on radio 1 was on the day that diana died, lots of good chill out stuff that now adorns my collection like

Future sound of london- papua new guinea
leftfield - song of life
the aloof- one night stand

For some people its a chance to get some cheap laughs out of a very unfortunate death of one of the countries favourites. However it is always healthy to remember that many people will be greiving over the loss.
I for one am greiving over the loss.I had £20 on the Pope to go first....damn that knackered old bitch. But what was the EXACT time of death?1983 I reckon. D'you suppose she'll rise again on Monday.
The Queen has asked for the following statement to be read out:
*It is with the greatest sadness that Her Majesty the Queen announces the abandonment of regular TV schedules. That Nick Hornby drama? That’s off.The football? That’s off too. That Jennifer Lopez concert? That’s…actually, that one’s still on.
Instead there will be wall to wall obituaries in which you will be able to discover the following:
1. The Queen Mother has died.
2. She used to enjoy fishing
3. She is dead.
4. She once had a hip operation.
5. She is dead.
6. She was great (but is now dead)

Of course I'm in eager anticipation of Elton Johns mandatory contribution at the funeral. He could do 'Don't go breaking my hips','Goodbye Yellow Brick Teeth' or the favourite 'Don't Let the Ostiopath Go Down On Me'

A sad day for Gordons Gin manafactures and bookies everywhere, although no great loss for colgate.

To think that the BBC have been rehearsing this every 6 months for the past three decades the coverage does seem a bit cobbled together. Where's Sisson's black tie??That's his MBE out of the window.
Shouldn't it have been "Queens' Mother" anyway?Unless of course she was the Mother of all Queen's.In which case commiserations to Graham Norton.

7:57. Radios 2, 4, 5, 6 and world service are all identical. DAB text on all stations just reads "BBC [Station name] on Saturday, the 30th of March"

Paul.

The 'manuals' cover such a death as this. Immediate hand over to Radio Four upon RATS signal receipt, then back to sombre music from the 'death' drawer.

I thought the lack of a black tie was a big oversight too - especially when the fellow in a yellow one came on.
