I've got numerous recordings of the 'Phonics live, and when they play that song the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end!

I have to agree, he can't really sing he has a very rough voice. Not one of the greatest singers around by far.

I think kelly has a fantastic voice.
its unique, it has a certain edge to it and he is great to hear live.

Just my opinion but I think the phonics are great.

i too do not get the allure of the 'phonics as the kids say. i met them last year, and the drummer is odd, and kelly bored me. yech.

my song right now would have to be "shangrila" by the kinks or "m.o.r." by blur

ROCK

Nice choice there. :)

Sit back in your old rocking chair
You need not worry, you need not care
You can't go anywhere
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la

Tis a good song, but then "I'm not like everybody else" is good, or "Celluloid Heros" that one is good as well
By Barbedo Sauve

....and the best Kinks song 'Louie Louie' of course.

i'm not really a fan of "celluloid heros" or that era of the kinks. "i'm not like everybody else" is great, but dave davies wrote it!

other kinks songs of note- "do you remember walter?", "autumn almanac", "days", "till the end of the day", "all god's children", "some mother's son", "king kong", and of course "david watts."

yeah, the kinks, number one in my book. with the who a close second.

but the kinks were only copying what every other band at that time were doing..if you want a band who influenced every musician since...the beach boys are the band..brian wilson is a god

Right now my favourite song is 'Sweet Dreams' the version by Beautiful South.

Many is the lunchtime hour I have spent working in the pub singing this.

Well it scares away the customers at least.
