Find yourself a good multi-track sound editor (Wavelab, Nuendo, Sound Forge, ProTools, Cool Edit, etc.).

A good sampler (Propellerhead's Reason is a good one).

Throw in a bit of imagination, job's a good'n.

Vibe Music and Audio Imaging (http://www.vibe.co.uk) make Radio 1's Jingles.
I have recently obtained a copy of Vibes 'V - The Production library' with all the sound effects (swoosh, bang, pow etc) necessary to make jingles. plus some really cool backing beds. This is really difficult to get hold of and took me three attempts even tho they say it is free :?
If you are after some radio 1 jingles I have uploaded some here:
http://www.rehh.co.uk/web/downloads/
Please tell me if you download them so I know if its worth leaving them on my webspace or not.

yep its designed for radio stations. You're application may appear to go through ok. But if they realise you are not gonna make em money you will not receive it.

Also the production library is on 4 cds with 72 tracks on each. So please be more specific about what kind of bits you want off the production library cos it is gonna take me ages to upload 288 tracks on my 56k.
I don't mind uploadin some tho. Take a listen to the demo of the production library on the vibe site and give me a better idea of what you are after.

To DJPhil - I have downloaded your jingles and if anyone else is like me then they'll love them 'cause I'm a bit of an R1 junkie and I like playing the jingles before songs on my PC so keep 'em there ! ! ! :D

Fellow Moyles Fan : is that not just a little sad, playing them before playing your songs on your computer ? I was just wanting the CD thing for my internet broadcasts (not radio 1 jingles obviously)

That Vibe CD is really good; I use it for our jingles production at work (on Coll Edit Pro if you wanna know), but it is only intended for radio station use, and it is PRS and MCPS registered, so they might get a bit peed off if heaps of non-radio industry people start requesting it and subsequently may decide to take it away and not give it out anymore :?

Radio 1 also use an imaging tool called Killer Hertz.
It's basically lots of stabs, pows, sweepers and beds.
It's not avaliable commercially and you need a licence to use it.

PS - DJPhil - I don't think you should be distributing tracks from the library. All of them are copyright and you need to return all usage to MCPS and PRS before you use them or you could get in a lot of legal trouble. The CDs are only free to Radio or TV Stations who promise to abide by Vibe's conditions and will pay royalties to use them.

If you are not in the position to receive them then you should not have them.

Give it chance, they take a while. Also, if you're not in the industry they may not send it to you because of strict copyright laws. Everything on the CDs is copyright to Vibe and is registered with mcps and prs (so you pay when you use it). They will not send it out just randomly to anyone.

lets remember that nearly every song is prs and mcps registered so for gregs sending it to us it is no different to him sending me an mp3 of say umm, britney spears.

Magicman, where do you get Killer Hertz from?

I looked on the Vibe website, but couldn't find it.

Cheers,

Rich~

P.S. I am registered as an authorised user of copyright music with MCPS and PRS so all the legal stuff is okay...I'd just like to know where to get it!

Killer Hertz - Go to the Production Libraries section on Vibe

It is a production series made by Jeff Thomas Productions and you can only get it through Vibe in the UK.

It is a licensed product so Vibe will provide you with the legal stuff
