JON LEE, drummer with Welsh rock trio FEEDER, has been found dead in his MIAMI home after committing suicide.

Lee, 33, was discovered on Monday (January 7).

Lee leaves a widow, Tatiana Englehart, the Brazilian model whom he married at a ceremony in Florida in 2000, and a son, Cameron. He had made his home in Miami after the wedding.

In a brief statement, Lee's distraught bandmates said simply: "We shall miss him more than melody. We're utterly devastated."

Lee, originally from Newport, formed Feeder with frontman Grant Nicholas in 1992 in south Wales. They moved to London in 1995 in search of success and hooked up with bassist Taka Hirose. Touring incessantly and building up a solid fanbase, the band finally broke through in 2001 with biggest hit 'Buck Rogers' the first single from their third album 'Echo Park'. Both the single and album peaked at Number Five in the UK chart.

The band had recently finished a tour supporting Stereophonics across Europe and before Christmas had scored another top 20 hit with the 'Just A Day E.P.'.

maybe the best career move is death. look at eva cassidy, where were the ppl when she was alive. aaliyah will be number 1 at the weekend, a bit too late for her to celebrate. just the record companies cashing in on sympathy. expect feeder to be played all week and the album to go top 10 at the weekend.

I was really upset when i heard. I saw them in november when they were supporting Stereophonics and it looked like they had everything going for them, they had a big fan base and amazing talent.

Jon lee was one of the best british drummers in british rock music in the late 90s. He was an amazingly good drummer i had the pleasure of seeing him and the band in leeds last march and he was truely amazing.
Feeder are one of those bands that are truely catching and make songs that you can relate to and sing a long to
Jon was a nice guy who always talked to the fans and seemed 100% normal

my heart goes out jon lees wife and son and their familys and grant and taka

Jon Lee R.I.P
Its always sad when a little spark of light is done, no more life and thats the end of the show. I honestly didn't like feeder that much but wished no harm to them. Just I feel that the death of this one person may spark more emotion and conversation than the millions of deaths in poor and destitute countries.

I saw them supporting the phonics and they were great, and he was a great drummer. As a feeder fan I know that he will be sadly missed by many.

OK - he's dead and everyones sad. I don't mean to be insensitive, but he chose to kill himself! Its obviously what he wanted, and if things were really that bad then he should've received some psychological help.

Of course all thoughts are with the Wife and Kiddie, as well as the rest of the band. :-/
Feeder and Nirvana arn't really anything alike! Plus I think that the Kurt Kobain was a bigger shock to the music world. Than John Lee no offence meant.

I saw Feeder at V2000 before they made it big. They were probably about the best band there. I'd never heard of them before, but every song they did was outstanding. It's good to hear they'll continue because they make great music.
