TLC Star Lopes Killed In Crash
Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, a member of the US all-girl band TLC, has been killed in a car crash in Honduras, central America.The R & B group enjoyed chart success with songs including No Scrubs and Waterfalls.
Lopes becomes the second female R & B singer to die tragically in less tham a year, following the death last August of Aaliyah in a plane crash.
Rapper Lopes, 30, made headlines in 1994 when she was arrested for burning down the house of then-boyfriend, former Atlanta Falcons football player Andre Rison.
Drinking problem
She was fined and sentenced to five years' probation and then entered rehab to deal with a drinking problem.
TLC's most recent album was FanMail, released in 1999.
It topped the US pop album charts for five weeks and won a Grammy for best R & B album.
The other members of the group were Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.
